"I was treated to dinner recently at Ice Box Cafe, having just arrived in South Beach for the week. My host suggested I order the chicken paillard Milanese. It was a generous portion of thinly prepared chicken, delicately fried and seasoned, and topped with lightly dressed mesclun greens. It was probably the best chicken breast entree I’ve ever had, so good that I returned two days later to order it again. The menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch are diverse, including several healthy options. In addition to the quality of the food, the service is exceptional. Manuel greeted me warmly and seated me by the window. Even more appreciated was the carafe of water he brought to the table; too often I am waiting for a server to replenish the water. Throughout my dinner, I observed Manuel on the move non stop. My server, Julian, was delightful, professional and efficient, yet very personable with a work ethic not often observed in peers his age. I suspect my cravings for the chicken paillard Milanese may get the best of me and result in yet one more visit to Ice Box before heading back home to New Hampshire."
