"We have gone first to the original Sushi Kushi on Lake Forest when it was still a small restaurant. It expanded and when Sushi Kushi San3 opened we were there since it's was closer to where we lived. It was awesome for many years. However, the last year has been awful. First they concentrated on take out orders over tables. We waited over 45 minutes for a single sushi order while the staff prepared to go orders and the woman at the front counter disappeared. We waited a few months and went back, only to again have the service just as bad due to togo others and again, the woman that seemed to have been in charge disappeared. This time, the sushi was just okay, not the usual quality. This last time, today, again the service was bad until I got upset. Good was just okay for a usually superb restaurant and the woman this time spent need whole time taking immediate orders and hanging out with her friends table rather than taking care of the restaurant. After almost 30 years we won't be going back."

"I eat here frequently. The food quality is great and the staff are very kind and respectful. They give pillows to put behind your back which is very comfortable. The lunch box combos are very cheap for its quantity. The food in general is very filling. Overall, would recommend."

"i ordered the bento box with the following selections: main chefs choice sushi (7 pieces) side gyoza starter miso soup roll salmon avocado dessert green tea ice cream everything was pretty good overall. the fish was really fresh and atthis price point exceeded my expectations of the quality/flavor. the gyoza and miso soup were also pretty good. the outerskin/shell of the gyoza was nice and thin and the meat inside was juicy and savory. i must say the green tea ice cream was whatwon for me that night. it was so delicious and full of matcha flavor. i am lactose intolerant and it definitely messed up mystomach, but for that ice cream i?d do it all over again. i?d recommend trying them out!"

"Great location right in Greenwich Village. They have a covered outdoor seating area that adds a few seats. We didn't have an issue getting seated, though on a weekday night for dinner. They have an outdoor seating area on the street. Despite being outside, the service was still attentive.Sushi plate $25) This included 2 pieces of tuna, 1 salmon, 1 yellow tail, 1 white fish, 1 ikura, 1 tobiko, 1 shrimp, and 1 salmon avocado roll. I picked to have it with miso soup on the side. The sushi wasn't anything special it was decently fresh but nothing to write home about. I liked the ikura and the salmon avocado roll. It was an alright value for $25, but you can definitely get better quality fish elsewhere."

"Came, went, saw, never returning. I only gave Waka a chance since I saw a super rave review on our local Facebook group where management changed and food was excellent. Coming from someone who has been to Japan and had real sushi as well as a foodie who frequents good places in NYC, this place was a far cry to what was said. First off, we ordered foods in the sushi roll, tempura and bento sections. Every single item received was literally covered in sugar. So if you're expecting sweets as a meal, this is the spot for you. If you're craving savory, don't do it. Secondly, the review had raved about service this was basically non-existent, so not exactly sure what's going on. Either we live in an alternate universe, or weekends are not meant to be. Either way, it was uncomfortable how the waitress kept on insisting for us to order from the specials appetizers desserts when we weren't that hungry. Also trying to up-sell us or change our orders. All in all, maybe others enjoyed their time here, but I personally will not be returning. The hunt for good sushi in Westchester continues... It's 11:48am and the store hours are 11:45a-11p on Saturday. The doors are completely locked, called and got no response. Must have forgotten to come to work today. Super fail."

"I went here a lot when I first moved into the area, so when I recently moved back into the local area, I was not only happy to find them still open, but that their sushi is still just as wonderful! Being a purely takeout place, I tend towards rolls ratherthan cuts of fish, as I'd rather have the latter fresh rather than travel home with it. But the rolls are wonderful, from thebasics (I'm a big fan of salmon skin) to their higher-end rolls with eel. My wife is very fond of their grilled salmon roll,although once it did come quite overcooked, when every other time it's been perfectly grilled and tender. That was just oneblemish on an otherwise spotless record of wonderful sushi. I do with the boba tea options were on the website, as we sometimesforget when placing an order."

"A fine gentleman at Anima Mundi recommended this restaurant and I'm so glad that he did. The sushi rolls were excellent as was the crispy tempura. I was impressed with the quality of the iced green tea. (tea nerd here). I was happy that they had brown rice. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. The atmosphere is nothing special(nice but not essential) but we had a window table so I was quite happy. Despite the fact that I live in Manhattan I can't wait to go back.Vegetarian options: I'm always happy when a japanese restaurant offers brown rice. The vegetables were fresh and tasty.Parking: we found a parking spot 1/3 of a block from the restaurant. meter didn't take credit cards so we fed it quarters."

"I would like to give it 3.5 stars, but for the overall value my rating feels fit. the spicy thunfish, spicy salmon, and sweet potato tempura rolls (small special, $16) and the pork gyoza 8.) the sushi itself was tasty enough, especially the spicy salmon. but the spicy thunfish really lacked and the sweet potato roll lacked the iconic sweet drift found in other sushi joints (it left the roll rather dry). I would have liked to see a chili oil in the bag next to her. overall, for $20 they can probably have a better sushi experience in gramercy/ flatiron/ midtown. for a quick lunch it is not and at all. but I'm probably not going back to maguro."

"The food here is excellent, tasty, fresh and clean ! Some customers might complain about their service and staff attitude, though i can say that the staff here are super nice people, however, because of their culture or tone of talking could be different from what we expect, so we think they are not as respectful, but thats not true. They are very very nice, kind and rushing to help you as fast as they can! Moving and servicing all tables making sure everyone is satisfied ! "Overall I had some good experiences here and it was originally my original go to because the all day happy hour and the food was consistent. It took a long time write a review that would not be extremely negative. The last time I was there was very unpleasant and uncomfortable. Sadly, I do not see myself returning after an awful experience. I sat outside on a nice summer day. The 2 person tables can be a tight fit to move your chair in and out. The waiter seemed okay at first but then failed to mention my drink wasn't part of happy hour, okay. My food took a lil while to arrive. The surface it was warm until I got to the towards the middle the food was cold, sigh. While there the waitress was not welcoming and did not come by to see if I wanted another drink or anything which was different. However, at a distance her and the guy who put the utensils and soy sauce on the table mad it a point to keep watching me as if i'd dine and dash. To the point towards the end of the meal he literally was a few feet away almost hovering as if I would leave. Brushing it off and already annoyed with the experience I thought he was waiting to clean the table but made no effort when I got up. He was more interested to follow and see if I was going inside to pay. Once I entered to pay via Apple Pay, I realized I never used a Yelp offer so I inquired about it. The waitress being her unpleasant self said I needed to complete a review in order to receive the percentage off the total. Another staff person was near by look at her strange and assisted me. She was really nice and provided the pleasantries I was use to receiving and seeing at the establishment, however it was too late. This was a place I planned on bringing friends and family to in the future. It's not somewhere I feel comfortable visiting again. Pro Location wise it's not disruptive with the foot traffic and sitting outside. It's in between the 7 Court Square and Vernon Jackson train stop. Sitting outside is popular during the warmer months. Inside is spacious enough for small or larger family meals where kids and adults frequently eat here. The sign on the street draws in people as well as those who live nearby. Place is known for sushi, food, and all day happy hour. Prices are $15 30+. Cons Employees who negatively profile customers. This is not true for all of them but it's enough to consider before spending your money. I hope since my experience there has been changes in staff. Hunter's Point draws a diverse crowd and everyone should feel welcomed. A shrimp and broccoli costs almost $20 here. Outside of the recent time my food had been consistent and why I returned."
