"My wife and I are in the area once a month for a recurring appointment and we 've been enjoying trying the various different restaurants in this villa . After several suggestions from a good friend, I decided that we 'd try Fondi this time. We had avoided it because we are generally on a very tight time crunch and pizza didn 't seem like a fast option. But I was encouraged to try it and my friend kept telling me that they were pretty fast , so we gave it a go. That 's my preface, so let 's keep that in mind. It was a Wednesday, so middle of the week, yet this place was jam packed. That should have been my first sign, but I did see several open tables so I stayed the course. At this time we had about 60 minutes (1 hour) before we had to bail, so it can be done. It 's a bit confusing for a first time visitor, but we stood in line to place our order at the front counter. I got a little aggravated when the couple in front of us invited their friends to come join them in front of us in line, but whatever, that 's the world we live in now. People cut in line all the time. I ordered a few selections to try some different things. We went with the Spinach-Artichoke Dip, the Pepperoni Rolls (which I hear are a menu favorite) and the Pear-Prosciutto Pizza along with a couple iced teas. One more slightly confusing thing was that you don 't pay at the counter when you order, you pay afterwards. Okay cool, we took our number and found a table. At this point I was getting a bit nervous because we were down to 50 minutes before cutoff time for our appointment, but if we 're talking Mod Pizza fast, we 'll be fine. It took us another 20 minutes just to get our two Iced Teas, the waitress dropped them off and said I 'll be right back with some straws. We never saw her again the rest of the visit. So now we 're down to 20 minutes, getting a bit anxious and the only thing we 've seen so far is our drinks. We still don 't have napkins, silverware or plates. We waited another 25 minutes before the food showed up, so that 's 45 minutes from the time we placed the order until the food arrived at our table, leaving us just 5 minutes to eat it before we needed to rush out the door. At this point we had to ask for napkins before the waitress who dropped off our food said Oh yeah, and I 'll grab a couple plates as well. Sure, but it 's pizza, we can eat it over the pan it came on, I 'm not too worried about that. So let 's talk about the food a bit, because that 's what everyone comes to Yelp to read about. The Pepperoni Rolls are actually quite amazing. The Marinara Sauce is wonderful. My wife said she would eat it with a spoon if they had brought her one, it was that good. The Spinach-Artichoke Dip was, in my opinion, heavy on the artichoke and you could barely taste the cheese. It was good enough, but didn 't wow me like that marinara sauce did. The Pear-Prosciutto Pizza was good, we enjoyed it. Again, in my opinion, it was a bit light on the balsamic drizzle. But the salty prosciutto played well against the sweet pear. I just wish it had a bit more balsamic. Keeping in mind that we were trying to eat all of this in the 5 minutes we had left, so it was very much wolfing it down without much talking. I really wish I had more time to actually enjoy this meal, but we just didn 't. We had to flag down someone to pay our bill real quick and get a to-go box for the remaining slices of pizza that we just couldn 't finish in time. So most of my 3-star rating here is just based on the service, or lack there of. I get that it was very busy and they were running around like crazy. I 'm not angry with the staff for being swamped. But I am frustrated with the fact that it took us 20 minutes just to get an iced tea and then we literally never saw her again and had to flag down someone else to pay our bill. The food was decent enough, aside from a few small things noted above that are just personal preferences"
