"We so looked forward to trying this place their website states that they are open for dinner starting at 5 pm! Well here we sit this uptown cafe isnt open at all! How lazy do you have to be to not alert the dining public that your operation is closed, has changed its hours/days open, etc? I doubt we will give them another opportunity after this incompetent failure."

"I have had many a memorable meal here, so when friends were coming into town and staying near, I thought that this would be a great place. I had not been to Pound Pence in a number of years. While the ambiance was nice enough (although the music was a little loud when we first arrived , the food wasn't spectacular. The the tuna nicoise that I had was overcooked (not my requested medium rare, but, rather, medium and a little tough and overdressed. (Note to self: Ask for the dressing to be on the side. I did not ask about my friends' meals, although they didn't say anything about it either way."

"The mushu swarm was outstanding. We also tried the duck shoulder fry, crab rangoon, and sushi, all of which were delicious. However, the service was quite slow, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Despite that, I believe it was worth a large rating, and I will definitely be returning."

"Fantastic venue just outside Encinitas. Built in the 60's the Victorian style house has multiple rooms, a coffee roaster in the basement, the best array of cafe pastries and pies I have ever seen! I love blueberries and the mix them with Scones, muffins and bakehem in a pie! None of the pastries are oversweet. Also a veranda style porch, a beautifully landscaped front garden. This is such a chosen spot that even sparrows feel free to fly in the windows or through the open doors to steal crumbs of the tables! Bring your children, just for that. Bring your self, for that matter."

"Finally checked it out and everything was delicious. We ordered the crack fried rice, the works, the fries fish platter, and onion rings. Everything was seasoned so we'll. Yes, it brings some kick, but to me, the perfect amount (and I do believe things can be too spicy...this wasn't). The bang bang sauce was really incredible. My daughter and I split the regular size crack fried rice with plenty to spare. The portions are generous, definitely order more if you're unsure so you can have leftovers. The fish fillets were much larger than we were expecting. They were helpful and patient while taking out order. It was busy, but we only waited around 15 minutes for our food. They showed me each order and ensured everything was right before I left the counter. Great experience, will definitely be back! "This is the worst restaurant—I wouldn't even send my worst enemy here! On a day when the temperature was nearly 90 degrees and there was no air conditioning, we had to go inside to place our orders. I ordered a salad (please don’t mention tomatoes since I'm allergic; it had chopped tomatoes mixed in). I also ordered French fries and a beverage. However, when my order arrived, I only got half of my beverage and half of the fries. And, as I mentioned, my salad was filled with tomatoes. Thank you for ruining my friend's birthday celebration."
