"First visit on a Saturday evening and we had requested the patio. Excellent choice as we had a nice table for 2 in the corner where we could talk and enjoy our dinner. We brought our own wine and the friendly server brought an ice bucket for us. There is a $25 corkage charge if you bring your own wine, which is reasonable. My wife and I shared the proschutto with melon as an appetizer and it came with 4 pieces of cantelope, covered with prochutto, shredded nuts and balsamic dressing. Taste was great and it was a super choice to get us started, light enough not to fill us up but substantial portion to satisfy us. For the main course, I selected the Chicken Milanese, which is a pounded flat breaded and pan fried chicken, served with a slice of lemon to give the meat added flavor. You have options of what to have with the dish and i ordered the garlic mashed potatoes and grilled cauliflower. Taste was great (although Veal Milanese would have been superior to chicken) and makes a geat alternative to the usual pastas. My wife had the stuffed ravioli with ricotta and spinach and it was very tasty and she was happy. After polishing off our bottle of chardonney, we ordered their house chardonney which came chilled and was very good. To top off the evening we shared the tiramisu, which was moist, flavorful, and a great way to finish our meal. Service was attentive and friendly, nice relaxed vibe for all ages on the patio, plenty of free parking although we Uber when we have wine and we certainly will be back."

"When a craving for authentic Tuscan cuisine takes over, a great place to tame it is one of three west coast-based Rosti Tuscan Kitchens in Southern California. Pronounced “roast-y” the Santa Monica locale reminded us that we didn’t absolutely have to be in Italy to enjoy the aroma of freshly baking bread, signature pasta and secret family recipe sauces, and all things savory involved with impressive Italian favorites sure to keep any food connoisseur pleased. It was a crowded Thursday night. My husband and I contemplated departing with the heavily populated eatery, but decided to wait a few more minutes despite. Before we knew it, the hostess led us to a candlelit romantic table for two window side, and left us with menus and wine glasses for the wine we brought with us until our server would arrive. The ambiance was warm and inviting and heavenly scented with the likes of fresh basil, crushed tomatoes, and pizza dough boldly wafting through the dining room from a busy kitchen in the rear of the establishment. A crusty warm fresh bread was delivered by our server, Lea, as well as a saucer of extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. This complimented the near perfect bread and made for a great companion to our red wine we began enjoying. A sure winner from the pasta selections was the Chicken Marsala over a selection of capellini as a pasta choice. A succulent Marsala sauce including Marsala wine, thinly sliced mushrooms and a sinful inclusion of butter, this signature entree is a popular choice at Rosti, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed each component of this meticulously prepared dish. Tender marinated grilled lean steak was cut into slices and served over a bed of shredded Romaine, then graced with Gorgonzola cheese crumbles, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions and an incredibly succulent basil herb dressing. How much better could this have been prepared? We don’t have an answer to that question because in our line of work, this was pure bliss. The chilled crunch of the crisp lettuce contrasted nicely against the warm tender steak, while the house made dressing brought every bite together in culinary harmony. The Spinach Ravioli Special with a chosen Alfredo sauce selection and side of house marinara for a minimal additional charge satisfied my hankering for something house made, yet broke all rules of the typical Californian diet. Both filling and satisfying from the first taste to the final bite, this dish of handmade ravioli excellence was stuffed with spinach and covered with a generous portion of homemade Alfredo sauce that hit the spot marvelously! The combination of fresh flavors encompassed within the Milanese Sandwich had us debating whether or not to order an additional one to take home with us. Crafted with hand breaded chicken cutlets, the addition of fresh eye-catching arugula, fresh Mozzarella, tomatoes and a zesty pesto only enhanced the features of this flavorful phenomenon. A choice of 7-grain wheat bread, ciabatta, or fresh baked foccacia was available for our choosing, while a side salad or rosemary potatoes was offered as easily digestible side options. Feel at home when visiting Rosti Tuscan Kitchen because it is an establishment of delectable Italian cuisine, a cozy ambiance both indoors and on the sidewalk patio, and offers a multitude of seasonal specials and year-round favorites to satisfy those Tuscan food cravings that sneak up on us when we least expect them to. A relaxed lunch or a long romantic dinner will leave you fulfilled and returning soon. "Sant Ambroeus Soho has always been one of my favorites places in the city and I 've enjoyed visiting regularly over the years. Thats why it was my first option to go for lunch with a friend that I have not seeing for a very long time. But what a disappointment did I get yesterday. The new manager is there just to boost his ego and his attitude is 'it 's my way and I do not care you are the costumer . I had made a reservation for outdoors 3 weeks in advance and upon arrival the new hostess, who is not that much friendlier, escorted me to the 'wood cabanas/steam rooms ' that were fine during winter-pandemic situation but do not work in warmer Spring-Summer days; it was 80 degrees yesterday and I did not want to do that to my very fashionable woman friend. I asked to be seated under the awning area which was completely empty but I was told that those were for guests with reservations; exactly; like if I didn 't have a reservation. The only option offered were to be seated inside and I was left standing outside while I waited for my friend to decide what she wanted to do. I was totally ready to go somewhere else but after her arrival we decided to just get it over with and eat inside. Sant Ambroeus ' new management will be responsible for their business demise. We are in time that after a year of pandemic people have 0 tolerance for the BS and the mistreatment of patrons. The new manager needs to get with the program and overcome his insecurities because the times where patrons went out to be mistreated by the rude employees on the false pretense of being at a cool place are long gone. It is not about you.. it is about the costumer."

"Cafe Epicure has been on the Sarasota dining scene for over 20 years. Which is IMPRESSIVE in the world of restaurants. So they’re clearly doing something right. And that thing is the FOOD. The interior is quite lovely, the location is an excellent downtown corner with lots of outdoor seating on the sidewalks, but there is also a choice of seating options inside with a dedicated bar and high top communal table on one side (with tables as well and a more casual Trattoria setting on the other side with a large flat screen TV playing daytime television. The food is LEGIT wood fired, thin thin crust pizzas (quite a variety , pasta dishes, a small selection of breakfast/egg options, plates that are great for sharing (Fritto Misto, Eggplant Parm, Warm Octopus “Salad” and salads. LOTS of choices. Really something for everyone and everything freshly made from excellent ingredients. My parents LOVE this spot. I mean LOVE it. When I mentioned the fact that the person who appears to be in charge has a rather abrasive/unfriendly demeanor. Look I OWN a restaurant and work in it 50+ hours a week so I KNOW from the service industry and what it takes to do it and my exact quote was, “I find that to be an interesting choice of demeanor for the service industry.” Like, YIKES. I’m deducting a star for that alone. Rude. To my father. Super regular customer who spends A LOT of money and sings the praises of this joint. Unprofessional. That being said, 4 stars for the food. It’s fantastic. The bread that comes is really good; dense, flavorful. You get white and an olive bread that is really really good. It is also served with an olive tapenade that is pretty freaking great. (Don’t worry, they’ll give you more if you’d eaten your first round. But don’t fill up on the bread! Which would be really easy here. LEAVE ROOM! Fritto Misto (fried calamari, shrimp and zucchini is absolute perfection! This is a very hard thing to find. Perfectly fried, delicious and lightly coated with just the right amount of salt. I could eat this all day. Eggplant Parm. It’s good. Above average. Eggplant cooked perfectly. Marinara a little bland. Ask for the red pepper flake! I ordered the Caesar Salad because you KNOW ya girl is ALWAYS going to order a Cases if It’s on the menu. Epicure’s Caesar is now tied for Best Caesar Salad I’ve ever had. It is THAT good. They’re not overthinking it: fresh, crisp Romaine, paper thin slices of Parm, just enough dressing (the most common “error” with a Caesar Salad is that it is DROWNING with dressing. Not at Epicure! This salad is what every Caesar Salad should aspire to. I definitely wanted to have pasta because it is a VERY rare place I will order pasta at. Because it is a very rare place that is doing honestly good Italian food. Cafe Epicure has got pasta on lock. I wanted Puttanesca, but I didn’t want it with the pasta they were serving it with, I wanted Rigatoni (which was also on the menu, so I knew they had it in house . No problem at all. They subbed the Rigatoni, which was cooked perfectly (don’t EVER be serving me pasta that isn’t al dente, I will not eat it . The Puttanesca was good, not too much, just the right balance between pasta and “sauce.” Although their Puttanesca is not really a traditional “sauce.” There is no tomato base. Just the capers and olives, etc, tossed with the pasta. It’s good. Really good. I’d eat it again. Finished with a double latte. Yes, they know how to make an espresso drink. Which is another thing that A LOT of places attempt and also FAIL at. Excellent spot for authentic Trattoria/Roman style Italian food and espresso drinks. We couldn’t sit outside because it was 55 degrees and raining. But it was lovely inside as well."
