"When a craving for authentic Tuscan cuisine takes over, a great place to tame it is one of three west coast-based Rosti Tuscan Kitchens in Southern California. Pronounced “roast-y” the Santa Monica locale reminded us that we didn’t absolutely have to be in Italy to enjoy the aroma of freshly baking bread, signature pasta and secret family recipe sauces, and all things savory involved with impressive Italian favorites sure to keep any food connoisseur pleased. It was a crowded Thursday night. My husband and I contemplated departing with the heavily populated eatery, but decided to wait a few more minutes despite. Before we knew it, the hostess led us to a candlelit romantic table for two window side, and left us with menus and wine glasses for the wine we brought with us until our server would arrive. The ambiance was warm and inviting and heavenly scented with the likes of fresh basil, crushed tomatoes, and pizza dough boldly wafting through the dining room from a busy kitchen in the rear of the establishment. A crusty warm fresh bread was delivered by our server, Lea, as well as a saucer of extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. This complimented the near perfect bread and made for a great companion to our red wine we began enjoying. A sure winner from the pasta selections was the Chicken Marsala over a selection of capellini as a pasta choice. A succulent Marsala sauce including Marsala wine, thinly sliced mushrooms and a sinful inclusion of butter, this signature entree is a popular choice at Rosti, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed each component of this meticulously prepared dish. Tender marinated grilled lean steak was cut into slices and served over a bed of shredded Romaine, then graced with Gorgonzola cheese crumbles, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions and an incredibly succulent basil herb dressing. How much better could this have been prepared? We don’t have an answer to that question because in our line of work, this was pure bliss. The chilled crunch of the crisp lettuce contrasted nicely against the warm tender steak, while the house made dressing brought every bite together in culinary harmony. The Spinach Ravioli Special with a chosen Alfredo sauce selection and side of house marinara for a minimal additional charge satisfied my hankering for something house made, yet broke all rules of the typical Californian diet. Both filling and satisfying from the first taste to the final bite, this dish of handmade ravioli excellence was stuffed with spinach and covered with a generous portion of homemade Alfredo sauce that hit the spot marvelously! The combination of fresh flavors encompassed within the Milanese Sandwich had us debating whether or not to order an additional one to take home with us. Crafted with hand breaded chicken cutlets, the addition of fresh eye-catching arugula, fresh Mozzarella, tomatoes and a zesty pesto only enhanced the features of this flavorful phenomenon. A choice of 7-grain wheat bread, ciabatta, or fresh baked foccacia was available for our choosing, while a side salad or rosemary potatoes was offered as easily digestible side options. Feel at home when visiting Rosti Tuscan Kitchen because it is an establishment of delectable Italian cuisine, a cozy ambiance both indoors and on the sidewalk patio, and offers a multitude of seasonal specials and year-round favorites to satisfy those Tuscan food cravings that sneak up on us when we least expect them to. A relaxed lunch or a long romantic dinner will leave you fulfilled and returning soon. "I frequently order out from here. The food is always good and exceptional. Kudos to the chefs, cooks and kitchen. The staff, the face of the restaurant, is incredibly rude. Perhaps it’s because I order out. I order about 2-3x a month for the past year (subs, pizza, main dishes, appetizers, etc. and maybe once, I’ll be greeted nicely. Mainly and always ignored by any female, servers, and supervisors in a tie, that stand behind the kiosks gossiping about their tables and dancing, walking around customers waiting for help. They pass judgement on appearance from the experience I’ve had. Not only to me, my other person refuses to walk in there to pick up because of his experience with the face of the restaurant. The gestures they made towards him was unacceptable. I write this because of my most recent experience I had on Feb 14, 2025 was actually ridiculous. The 2-3 Female servers, (2blonde, 1brunette and short supervisor (in purple standing behind the front kiosks avoided eye contact until they finished their conversation, giggling. I am only trying to pick up my order and I was interrupting them to help me, which they didn’t. Someone else did. I assume the owners of this establishment is aware of how there employees act and the lack of care to allow unprofessionalism is truly questionable. I get having fun and joking around but not in front of customers, especially speaking about other customers publicly and during busiest hours."

"IF YOU LIKE WOOD OVEN PIZZA.... THEN WALK IN WITH CONFIDENCE.This Review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion.I went to the DESANO pizzeria with my friends on a Thursday night, 11/18/21 and it was my first time.FOOD: We ordered one large DIAVOLA and one large VERDURA and in the end 6 CANNOLI.PIZZA DIAVOLA= very good pizza indeed! the right amount of topping, NOT greasy, NOT fatty, NOT oily, NOT soggy and the right amount of cheese. The wood Oven is what does the magic.... the crust is crunchy and toasty, the bottom is thin and well done. The fresh, simple, but very good ingredients are the secret of its amazingly balanced taste, that surprises even the most picky New York style pizza lover. The Sausage and the Peppers were tasty and tender, and the Bufala cheese would just melt in your mouth .......Wow!PIZZA VERDURA= few ingredients, as you can see in my photos, but an harmonious combination. cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, spinach and mushrooms..... couldn't be more simple.very good pizza indeed! the right amount of topping, NOT greasy, NOT fatty, NOT oily, NOT soggy and the right amount of cheese. The wood Oven is what does the magic.... the crust is crunchy and toasty, the bottom is thin and well done. The fresh, simple, but very good ingredients are the secret of its amazingly balanced taste, that surprises even the most picky New York style pizza lover.CANNOLI= they were good and flavorful but could have been better. They did not have the chocolate coating inside that prevents the Cannoli from becoming soggy and mushy. very good cannoli regardless. The Ricotta filling was good but too sweet and the Chocolate chips ones had WAY TOO MUCH chocolate chips...Nice Cannoli shell I have to say. . I enjoyed the overall look and flavor.DRINKS= they have a small vertical refrigerator with a selection of Italian style beverages, alcoholic and not. I did really enjoy picking my drink among all the flavors and types available. Sparkling water, Italian sodas and much more. They have beer, Italian wine and Italian Spumante. Amazing! Each of us picked a different drink and we enjoyed it!STUFF: Friendly, helpful, they greeted us at the entrance and when we left, and they said THANK YOU quite a few times. The young girl and the boy at the entrance guide you thru the Menu to help you make the right choice and the rest of the staff are nice and smiling. Soooo, very good customer experience.CLEANLINESS: Tables, floor, benches.... all clean. the buss boy kept cleaning in between servings and the other one was brushing the floor in the meantime. Pleasantly surprised to see such attention to details. the cleanliness of a restaurant is a key when it comes to a great customer experience.RESTROOMS: restrooms were nice and clean. Hand soap. paper towel, toilet paper and running water was available.PLACE: the restaurant has one massive room, industrial style and one small room. in the Large room you have many tables and benches to host a large number of customers (at least before COVID) and here you have the four wood ovens and the lab where they make the pizza dough. The place is minimally furnished but the look is still nice and neat. The small room, whit a pub-like look, is very minimalistic and sort of naked but I liked it too. This is a great place to have parties, reunions and gatherings with family and/or friends while enjoying a very good pizza. Both rooms have a TV set.PRICE: Within the average for a wood oven pizza.CONCLUSIONS: if you like thin crust pizza wood oven baked then you have to visit this place. recommended."

"One of the best Italian dining experiences to enjoy and savor! This restaurant is run by an incredible and friendly team of staff and servers providing top notch hospitality, customer service, and truly amazing high quality food, beverage, and dessert. They are on point in all aspects of providing and servicing their guests from table touch checking in on how your meal is and making sure to your satisfaction), human interaction, and warm smiles. A dream team of hardworking staff with a great synergy going above and beyond to ensure the guest and dining experience is the best. Many thanks to GM Abel, Manager Sandra, and the fantastic staff and crew Paola, Deana, Bella, Angela, as well as the chef, kitchen, bar, and floor staff. Such a pleasure to be in a wonderful place with positive energy and good vibes, beautiful art, a private room in back that can accommodate approximately 15 persons, a separate dining area, small intimate bar, and outdoor patio. The food is absolutely amazing and succulent!!! The pictured baked eggplant parmigiana is one of the best I’ve ever eaten seasoned to absolute perfection including restaurants in Boston and NYC!!! The hot garlic bread is super yummy and served promptly as well as refreshed. The red wine paring blend was a fabulous choice suggested by the server as I’m a fan of Malbec. Desserts! OMG! Warm bread pudding surprisingly light) ala mode with vanilla ice cream and the tiramisu layered perfectly) both to die for. A friendly local couple seated next to me after opening dialogue about the food and a conversation about music and radio era circa 1960’s shared that they’ve been going there for 45 years!!! They told me that it was previously decorated with bottles on the walls hence the name The Bottle Inn and changed after the pandemic. Highest recommendations for the ultimate best Italian dining in Los Angeles County in a quaint spot a half block from the beach! Will definitely be coming back! See you soon."
