"We booked a reservation in advance to watch the Christmas Ships and have dinner. Our family was looking forward to a great experience and I requested a table by the window so our children could watch the ships. We arrived early and the restaurant had just a couple tables occupied. I am not unrealistic with expectations and know that tables may not be guaranteed but it was added to my booking w/ Open Table and rec 'd a call to confirm my reservation the day before which I again verified that we had requested a window table, she said 'it shouldn 't be a problem. ' We were seated about as far away from the window as you could get, up against the interior wall. OK, maybe they had reservations placed before ours? But, it was a bit unorganized as the hostess really didn 't show confidence in knowing the seating arrangement/floor plan. Well we sat down for a great dinner anyway, or so we thought. We had visited the website the day of the dinner to take a look at the menu and think about our selections. The menu ended up being a reduced option for the Christmas Ship evening, would have been nice if that was on the website or communicated in some way. It also was quite spendy as the least expensive option was $28 a plate. It just kept getting worse. One of our children didn 't get served a meal for nearly 10 minutes while the entire table sat waiting with their food cooling off, the waitress finally came over to see why we were waiting, when it came it was only part of the meal and we had to ask again for the side. The food was nothing spectacular but it was good. When I left the table during our meal I walked by the hostess table and I heard a few of the staff arguing about where people were placed/sitting. Sounded like untrained staff, an oversight on a premium night? Our waitress was obviously new as well as she didn 't know the menu well and we could hardly hear her speak. Ended up being a 'meh ' experience. Too bad because we wanted it to be great."
