"After some time, we decided to push two tables together ourselves. However, a woman with brown hair approached us in a rude manner, insisting that we should have asked for permission first. We had been standing there feeling somewhat awkward, and it seemed like they wanted us to handle it ourselves. The woman walked past us several times without offering a greeting or inquiring if we needed assistance.
In my opinion, a more appropriate way to handle the situation would have been for her to greet us, acknowledge that we had a party of five with only four seats available, and let us know she would assist us shortly. It was obvious that my fiancé and our kids were waiting and looking for guidance at the top of the stairs and in the dining area.
Due to her rude demeanor, we chose to leave and instead went to our usual location in South Elgin, which we always enjoy. As someone who works in customer service, I understand the importance of treating customers as guests, and this woman clearly needs better training in that regard."
