"I had a great experience at Johnny Carino's in Joplin Missouri. It was pricey, but I expected that. We ordered a peach Bellini and a Margarita on the rocks for drinks, and we got an awesome deal for them. While the promotion for their 2 drinks for $10 was technically over, the promo was still active in the computer... And our awesome server was kind enough to give us this discount when our check was totalled up. Much appreciated, as it saved us about $8 on our alcoholic beverages. Delicious, hot and crispy, garlicy fresh bread was brought to us while we waited for the rest of our meal to arrive, complete with olive oil with spices for optional dipping. We ordered the Lobster Ravioli, which came with 6 ravioli in an incredible cream sauce. The pasta for the ravioli was thick around the edges, the filling was disappointing because it seemed they were all half full. The filling itself tasted amazing, and it was a lovely dish. With a $19.99 pricetag, however, 6 half filled ravioli seemed like a bit of a joke. Portion size should match price, and this dish fell short in that regard. The taste was phenomenal, but the meal was so small that it left my partner hungry. So hungry, in fact, that the appetizer we declined at the start of the meal was actually something we ended up ordering after all, after the ravioli were gone. That appetizer was their Baked Stuffed Mushrooms. With a pricetag of $10.99, we got 6 stuffed mushrooms in a cream sauce. A beautiful dish, and more reasonable for the price when compared to the Lobster Ravioli. Also ordered was the Chicken and Shrimp pasta, I ordered mine with spicy marinara instead of the Romano cream sauce it originally would come prepared in. For the $18.99 pricetag that came with this dish, I was pleasantly surprised. This dish was full of pasta and chicken and shrimp, mushrooms and artichoke hearts. It was so generous a serving, I had to ask for a to go box for my meal. Again, adding to the disappointment in the lacking portion size of the Lobster Ravioli. Each meal came with a side salad, we both had the Caesar salad and it was perfect. The service was wonderful, our server was fantastic. The manager even made his way to our table and made sure we were enjoying ourselves, they really know how to treat their customers at this restaurant. I'd have given 5 stars for flavor and service alone, but for the sake of honesty... the ravioli just fell short. An adjustment in price or portion size would quickly solve this issue, and overall I loved my experience here. Definitely will return to explore more of their impressive menu."
