"The first sign that things might not go well was when it turned out there were no Uber drivers available to pick up my order. The estimated delivery time just kept increasing, time after time. Finally, I received a notification that my food had been picked up. When it finally arrived, I hoped against hope that the pasta wouldn’t be a congealed mess, but I was willing to overlook that if the food was decent.
Unfortunately, when I took my first bite, my heart sank. The lump of pasta was congealed and lacked any flavor whatsoever. It was very al dente and rubbery, but what really sealed my disappointment was how bland the Alfredo sauce was—there was literally no seasoning at all. I was eating unsalted, hard pasta, drenched in tasteless Alfredo that didn’t even coat the noodles well. Perhaps it had dried out by the time it reached me because at least half of it was dry.
I tried mixing it all up, hoping the flavor was hiding somewhere at the bottom, and this time, I speared some chicken too. But it was even worse! The chicken was also unsalted and unseasoned, and it tasted reheated. *cries*
The garlic bread was decent (though difficult to chew after waiting so long for my delivery), so I took big bites of that to help me choke down the pasta—it was the only way I could manage to eat, even with my extreme hunger. They say hunger is the best sauce, but there was no salvaging that dreadful plate of Fettuccine Alfredo. Now, I’m still starving and will have to stop somewhere on my way home from work."
