"The idea of an Irish pub, when executed in the same way as pubs in Ireland, is truly something special. There are certain expectations that a customer should have when visiting such a place, including traditional decor, a welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, a good selection of drinks, and delicious, filling food. Unfortunately, High Point's Claddagh falls short in many of these areas. The setting feels more like a local sports bar than an authentic Irish pub, with a lack of polish and pride in the layout and furnishings. The atmosphere and staff also do not meet the standards one would expect from a genuine Irish pub. The bar itself is decently stocked, but the fact that they do not serve Guinness in true imperial pints is disappointing. The food offerings have been hit or miss, with appetizers that seem to be store bought and entrees that do not live up to traditional Irish dishes. Overall, while Claddagh has the potential to be something special in the Triad region, they are not taking advantage of this opportunity to excel in the Irish pub experience."
