"I’m sorry, but this place does not offer authentic Jamaican cuisine. Even if a Jamaican is cooking, it doesn’t truly represent the flavors of Jamaica. The plantains, which should be ripe, were dry and hard, making them nearly inedible. I ordered a variety of dishes: oxtail, brown stew chicken, and curry chicken, and they were all overly sweet. The brown stew and curry chicken were overcooked and lacked flavor. The rice and peas were overly bland and nearly tasteless. The jerk chicken didn’t compare favorably to others I’ve had, either. I also tried some patties, which were disappointing; the dough was underwhelming and not well-prepared. Overall, the cooking needs significant improvement, and anyone familiar with Caribbean cuisine would agree. If this is what they’re serving while claiming to be authentic Jamaican food, it’s a disservice to both the cuisine and the culture."
