"Our food was great but the service was awful. We waited 30 minutes to receive our check, as did the table next to us that had small children. During that time, our plates weren't even cleared. When our table of 6 asked for refills on drinks, she took each glass away, one at a time, and brought it back. Whenever we asked for something, such as salt and pepper, she acted as if we were putting her out or asking for something special or unreasonable. She wore a rumpled shirt that looked like she had just gotten out of bed, not something you expect for the menu price. Our service at this restaurant has never been very friendly but at least we received service."

"It has been said if you want to understand and learn about a culture, you should eat their food. I like Jamaican jerk chicken, I like rice and peas, also known as rice with beans. The flavor of the Caribbean, found with the bahamians as well as the Haitians. Those flavors are to be found here. The people who waited on me were very friendly and inviting. I went here for lunch with a friend he had the oxtail he remarked that it was very good. I had the jerk chicken with the barbecue sauce on it. Understand they put barbecue sauce all over the plate not just on the chicken. So if you ask for barbecue you better love barbecue sauce because they put lots on it. You should try this place you may find it to your liking."

"Surprised a friend with dinner here as he’s Jamaican and was missing delicious home cooked meals and this place did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and delicious. The decor is so inviting and classy. They even serve wine and various Jamaican beer which was a nice touch. We had the opportunity to speak with the owner who was absolutely a gem. Will definitely be returning."

"We stopped here for a late lunch around 2pm on a Sunday after finding out the one restaurant we wanted to eat at was closed on Sunday...I guess they did not update their hours on their website....: Pimienta means Pepper so I knew it was going to be a place with some spicy food choices and in fact it was a Jamaican inspired place. Once we sat down, we were told there was a QR code on the table where we could open the menu and order...all the ordering is mobile based...nothing is order via human interaction. I ordered a Brown Stew Chicken and my husband got the Crossroads Cheeseburger. My husband ordered the cheeseburger medium with lettuce and no tomatoes...and the Mac and cheese side. When the burger arrived it was **** red, so it was medium rare rather than medium and there was no lettuce. We asked for the waiter to fix which they did. The burger came back within minutes the way it was supposed to be...it was a good burger but nothing spectacular... My chicken dish was really good, not as moist as it could had been or as I have had at other Jamaican places) but it was very tasty. The rice and beans was flavorful and the ripe plantains were nice and sweet. At the time to pay, you again, get on the app and pay with a credit card...a 20% service fee is immediately added to the bill, to cover tip and other fees. Not a bad place for a meal. We saw a sign where they have happy hour on Monday to Fridays from 4 6pm and you get a Red Stripe draft for $4."

"We ordered the medium curry goat and oxtail dinners. Both meats were delicious and flavorful but we didn't like the rice/beans and cabbage. In my opinion, the cabbage was too garlicky and undercooked. The customer service was decent and we received our food in a timely manner."

"I would like to express my gratitude to Ana, our server, and Chef Wayne for making us feel so welcome at their restaurant. The service was exceptional, and the food was outstanding. Every dish we tried was delicious, starting with the appetizers, which included sweet golden fried plantains, sticky jerk chicken fingers, meat pie, spicy curry shrimp, and a jerk chicken macaroni casserole. The main course was generous in portion, and the chocolate cake with rum sauce was simply out of this world. The watermelon and ginger punch was a refreshing complement after such a satisfying meal. I must also mention the live band, which provided entertainment that transported us to Jamaica with their island-inspired sounds. We will definitely be returning!"

"This is the best place in Queens for authentic Jamaican food. The lines are often out the door, and the staff clearly knows what they’re doing. The food is freshly cooked and beautifully presented. Just a quick tip: be prepared with your order when you walk in, as things move quickly. I always order my rice and peas with gravy, and it’s delicious!"

"I now remember why I chose not to return to this restaurant. I was in the plaza near the salon suites and was craving some food, so I decided to have lunch here. I ordered the $10 lunch special which included curry chicken, collard greens, and rice and peas. I was disappointed to find that the food lacked any authentic Jamaican or Caribbean flavor. The collard greens were excessively salty, the rice and peas didn't have enough coconut milk cooked in, and the curry chicken had no discernible curry taste. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not be returning."

"The Jamaican patty's were ok. The rum cake was chocolate and tasted a lil sour, there was no frosting on it or the cinnamon roll which tasted old and stale. The rum cake was chewy asl and just overall mid. Do not recommend their desserts"

"The food at this restaurant was fantastic! I decided to try the jerk chicken, which came with a side of rice and beans, plantains, and cabbage. Every dish was delicious and cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is small and located in a strip mall, with simple seating arrangements. The only downside was the unfriendly waitstaff. While they were quick to take our orders and serve the food, they lacked in friendliness for unknown reasons. The space is quite small with a lot of hard surfaces, which can make it a bit noisy at times. Overall, the food was amazing but the service could use some improvement."

"I am delighted to have a Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant nearby. We ordered for pick-up and our food was ready in just 15 minutes. The person behind the counter was very friendly when we picked up our order. We got two medium-sized dinners for $30. While the goat could have had more flavor and the Mac and cheese was average, the jerk chicken, mixed greens, and rice and peas were excellent. The portion sizes made up for any shortcomings in taste, and we will definitely be ordering from here again when we have a craving. Our only disappointment was that they forgot to include our side of fried plantains."

"This place use to have me in a chokehold eating the oxtails weekly since November 2022. However, a couple of weeks ago I got my usual, and it smelled off putting, and when I tasted it most definitely wasn’t any good. I chalked it up to just an off day, and tried it again today. What a waste of money the meat was extremely tough, the favor wasn’t there, and the portions definitely decreased. The chicken extremely dry, and overly spiced. I don’t recommend them anymore, and I’m not sure what changed but it hasn’t been the same for months, and you can tell. Customer service isn’t as good as it used to be either, but the island punch smack however I’m not making the trip just for a drink."

"I rated this place 5 stars because I absolutely want to go back someday in the future, but OH do I have some words to say. I’ve been here twice, once in around 2017 and also in 2021. However, I still think about it on a near weekly basis, hence why I am giving this review. It was the most terrifying place I’ve ever been to and I’m not even afraid of clowns. I sat next to these dolls that would dance every few minutes and I would nearly cry from fear while my family made fun of me. I eventually left to find the bathroom, which I assumed would be less scary, only to be met by a giant freaking clown statue and I swear I saw his eyes move. And I’m still pretty those dancing dolls were also watching me the whole time. That day, I learned about fears that I didn’t even know I had. It is BEYOND me how I’ve never met another person who isn’t absolutely terrified of this place. I was on the verge of tears for two and a half hours. The desert was amazing, some of the best cake I’ve had in my life. Super moist and delicious. Would definitely recommend going. Kid-friendliness: My younger brothers loved it. I personally was in a petrified state of fear."

"A coworker suggested we try Carib Grille, so I decided to join them. I don't eat Jamaican food often, but I do enjoy jerk seasoning. The jerk chicken was decent, although not as spicy as I prefer. I added extra jerk sauce for a stronger kick, which improved the flavor. I like meals that have a mouth-burning sensation. I appreciated the option to choose different portion sizes, starting from $5. I opted for the mini $5 container since it was my first visit. If I'm ever in the mood for a quick meal, I would definitely consider going back. The cashier was friendly. However, I did not enjoy the strawberry lemonade, which was priced at $3. My mistake for not checking the price before ordering."

"I just purchased an order from this restaurant for my mother. The meal consisted of a main course meat and two side orders. My order was a take out order and when I arrived home I realized that the waiter put the meat in one of the tiny side order holders in the take out tray. In both the orders RICE was in the biggest part of the container. I couldn 't believe that I paid over $30 for beans and rice. I called the establishment and said, I order meat with two side dishes and you put the meat in the tiny side order part of the container. The response, Well you ordered a meal which is one meat and two side orders. My response, But the meat isn 't one of the side orders! You basically gave me container full of rice and beans. I 'm so angry. I recommend if you eat at this place that you check your food before you leave. If you want an order of beans and rice you can pay $3.99 and not $32.00. So so angry!"

"I ordered from this place and the first order was so good I decided to order a second time??‍??to my surprise the quality the second time around was completely terrible, my food ? was leaking everywhere and my food was all mixed in with each other . I don’t like my food ? touching at all I didn’t even touch I threw it straight in the trash. Also heads up they are FALSE advertising their red velvet cake ? is Not cheesecake it’s regular cake ? and not a generous portion to be charging $10 a slice . This really put a damper on my birthday now I’ll have to eat somewhere else that cares about quality and not just greedy for tips !!!"
