"The waitress seemed disinterested in serving us, which is surprising for a restaurant catering to a small-town population, as one would expect them to make an effort to keep new customers coming back. But not at Underground. The prices were steep, and at checkout, we were confronted with a tablet shoved in our faces, displaying a prompt for a tip. There was no receipt provided except through digital means, either by web or text. To top it all off, they had the audacity to ask us to buy the kitchen crew a round of drinks for $7. Why would we do that? I reluctantly left a 15% tip and made my exit.
It could have been worse, as I had dined at a nearby restaurant just the week before, which was even less impressive and made us aware of Underground’s existence. What is going on in Highland? Perhaps it's the influx of tourists drawn in by the Walkway on the Hudson, who are unlikely to return. It seems like the uncaring restaurant owner is just after a quick buck."
