Slow-cooked, tender Hawaiian pork with a smoky, savory flavor, traditionally wrapped in banana leaves.

"I’m a regular. Been a fan of the King Arthur for years. My advice is that you dine in. Busy or slow, your pizza is served within 15 minutes. Today was the first time we decided to order online, paid in advance with our credit card and included a tip. We were given the pick up time so we drove and parked in front. We were on time but the pizza was not. Hostess asked us to wait another 10-15 minutes. 1 hour later, we were still waiting. Giovanni’s was jamming and I hadn’t observed any take outs from the time I arrived. My husband finally asked for a refund and was then given a designated Uber eats order which was placed 20 minutes after my order. Don’t bother asking for a manager. This is a pizza joint."

"This place is similar to a great hole-in-the-wall , has really good BBQ... although the side option of pasta is not good at all (mash potatoes was good though). Decoration inside is great, cozy place. Would be 5-star for me if the entrance was different, if it had a few more beer and non-soda options, and if the menu included the options for drinks and included some pictures of the favorite dishes."

"We are coming through Eureka on vacation, as I'm sure many others do, and found The Banana Hut online. We decided to go there for dinner because it was something different and had good reviews. All of the food we ordered was so delicious and the atmosphere was fun! My mom got the coconut shrimp with a green salad and pineapple gravy on her rice. My dad got the mahi mahi dish with macaroni salad and pineapple gravy on his rice. I got the Kalua Pig sliders and sweet potato fries those are some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had!"

"I anticipated a small and somewhat shabby tiki bar when I arrived, but this place turned out to be amazing. The sushi served here is excellent, and they offer a variety of upscale snacks, including plenty of fish and sushi options. The live music adds a fun, quirky touch that perfectly matches the atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant experience. It's a great spot for a date. I brought someone special, and while it didn’t blossom into romance—sadly, considering she was both beautiful and hilarious—she just wasn’t into me. Despite my disappointment, I had a fantastic time and would definitely return."

"We tried the breakfast buffet here mainly for the convenience of being on the beach and it was something new to try. The other reason was that the family wanted to spend more time on the beach and didn 't want to walk far! It 's funny how everything just tastes better when your on vacation enjoying yourselves or maybe that 's just me! The breakfast here was nothing special and tasted fine. There was nothing of extravagance worth noting, other than the fact that we ate on the beach! It doesn 't matter if your eating a piece of dried what ever, if it 's in the land of paradise, who cares, it still tastes great! Oh ya, back to this buffet. The price was steep but what you would expect to pay at a resort. Like all buffet style restaurants, this one also had omelettes that were cooked to order. I tried the everything omelette, where they toss in everything but the kitchen sink. You could also just select different combinations to make up breakfast or just have a bowl of fruit! They carried several different types of beverages plus coffee, to wash down everything you just fed your face! Our family, when it comes to buffets, we always eat our money 's worth! Overall review on this place is that it 's good food if you can stomach the price which wasn 't high, but expensive enough for what you got! This place does only breakfast and dinner."

"The food wasn’t bad but unfortunately I’ve found it hard to forgive their attention to service. I cannot ever recall a time that I consciously chose not to leave a tip. I am allowing for this period of post pandemic service but to be acknowledged on entry and then forgotten only to the point of seemingly nothing else to do. I felt like someone just wanted to say… “are you still here”? There was enough lag time after finally getting my order place to run across the street to a Mexican restaurant place the order, receive the order, carry it a block to my car then return to Ohana and take a seat and still wait. My last disappointment was to find the order was ready but it took some time for the server to take notice that I was still waiting. In being fair with this review, I’ll state again that the food wasn’t bad but there is another popular local Hawaiian which I think is much better. It was the attention to service that failed here and I regret I stopped in because I am not thrilled in making this review."

"I like the ambience of this place. It?s humble, the natural light is nice, and the mural of Makana is quite tasteful. What was not tasteful, however, was the food. I ordered their loco moco. When I first got it, I was confused as to why there wasn?t gravyon the dish. Then, I opened up the burger patty and saw that it was still raw inside, but charred on the outside. I didn?t wantto keep on eating it, so I asked the waitress if me and my friend could get another one that was cooked (we ordered the samething). She saw the mistake and took the initiative to correct it with the kitchen. When she returned the dishes to thekitchen, I heard one of the kitchen staff blatantly say ?this is fine, they don?t know what they?re talking about?. My friendsand I were seated by the kitchen door, and to hear that was quite disappointing, because I know what raw meat looks like. A fewminutes later, the new loco moco dishes came out. Everything was over cooked, and it simply was not a good dish. At least theyadded the gravy. As someone who?s eaten many a loco moco in the past, this is not an authentic representation of it. The fishtacos and spam musubi were fine. However, it was missing seasoning and acidity, crucial elements that make up Hawaiiancuisine. I would not recommend eating here. The quality of the food needs improvement, and the price simply does not reflectit."

"We have eaten at Cheeseburger on Maui multiple times and always been happy, but this was a huge disappointment for $160. Service was super slow. Music was blaring but cutting out the whole time. Calamari was horrible, tiny and looked like it was freeze dried. I have had fresher/better calamari in small prairie towns in Alberta. Burgers were mediocre. Fish was soggy and undercooked. Only positive was the drinks. We never complain or send food back but this was just not acceptable. Don't waste your money here!"

"I had the Hawaiian Poke, and it was good. The pieces of tuna were smaller than I remembered from my previous experiences in Hawaii, so don’t expect large, traditional Hawaiian-sized pieces. However, you do still get a decent amount of tuna. It’s served over a bowl of rice, which isn’t how I recall having poke before. Despite the stylistic differences, it was quite tasty overall."

"Delicious food, heaping portions, in a humble building. Very good Hawaiian style food, lots of the local favorites done right. Kalua pig reminds me of Kenekes in Waimanalo which was always one of my favs. Kalbi was soft and well marinated, and the chicken was moist. I grew up on Oahu, this reminds me of home."

"What a great little spot! It’s a little suspicious in the area at night with the strong orders of weed but the food was just amazing! Within at least 10 minutes, the food was ready, we collected a treat next door to the place! The chicken Katsu was beyond words the best! Very crispy, tender, and full of flavor. I think it’s a competition between this place here and Queen Street Cafe! Highly recommend this place, you won’t be dissatisfied!"

"I've been wanting to try this place since I heard of it several months ago and today I finally did. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures…next time I will. I had the Kahlua Pork plate and it was amazing! So much flavor. Looks like a small-ish portion of food for the price but it was so filling. I also ordered Musubi, and let me just say that I have always hated Spam, like forever…but it was so good that I guess I don't hate Spam?? The gentleman at the counter that I believe to be the owner was ve … – show"

"After several nights of very rich gourmet restaurant food we just wanted a good burger and fries. This place hit the spot. The burgers were cooked just the way we like them, they had a good selection of beers and the atmosphere was very casual. It is located in the Shops at Wailea and very convenient to several of the resorts."

"The first thing I noticed when I walked in was all the decorations. The decor with the music playing made it a very pleasant experience. Their menu had a lot to offer, all of which sounded good. I went with the BBQ plate and the gyoza, which was enough food for two people and only about $25. Not to mention the food came out very quickly. Would recommend to anyone somewhat close to Brentwood."

"Been here a few times just for shave ice, and had a decent experience. Tonight, my daughter and I came in for dinner after hitting in some batting cages. Definitely a mixed bag this time. They were understaffed, and busy. Loads of people coming in to pick up takeout orders. Both of our meals were mediocre. Ribs were greasy, and the BBQ chicken was a small portion compared to other Hawaiian restaurants in Portland. Never got offered water (there is no public water station). Brought our food without any forks, knives, or napkins. Just basic stuff lacking. Note to the owners, please have enough staff on hand to handle the business."
