"this was because most people use it as a reservation to secure seats at certain times. When we arrived, they said we had no reservations, and it was just a polite call ahead, so everyone who came in before us would sit first. Of course, we waited 40 minutes before the time when we thought we had our reservation. on another note, the manager was an idiot and did not care for his customers, he had total employment about the situation when we faced him about advertising as they can make legit reservations. once sitting it was very loud in the room, the counter for grill was dirty with food and sticky substance, as well as over food pieces on the cooking surface of previous mozens. silverware had reis dried on it, and it took forever to get new cutlery. drinks finally arrived and we were short two that lasted another 10 minutes to get. now to suppe. the suppe came nice and hot, but it was broth with a piece of wobble and no mushrooms. his wobble soup with twirl, mushroom in it....well should be. now salate time. in so mu h dressing it was totally soggy, and most salat was brown and devastated, not edible, definitiw not something they serve. when I sat over my salad, I see a little drip from the vent hood on my plate. shocking old oil from the pan up! so disgusting, completely inconvenient, how long did this panty old fat collect? Just let me fall on my plate and the table. manager and waitress called, waitress is mortified, manager might take care less, says oh we will change the drip pan ok. our answer was health-sensitive will be contacted, he did not necessarily say it's okay we change it. he then goes away, a guy comes with dirty step chair pills overflowing stinky pan from fat down, driping it over grill cooktop. at this place we are all in full shock as they do not care about such a disgusting health risk!"

"Today 04/18/21 is the last day for the Kabuki restaurant on Kapiolani. I haven't heard any media announcement that they were closing but it's better for their loyal customers to order their last favorites before closing without having to wait in a long line. I work in town but I haven't dined in as much. Just lately, I've been ordering a lot of take out orders, since their Instagram announcement awhile back mentioned their April closing. Their reasonably priced lunch bentos (under $10 and ahi tempura were yummy. I did tried their oxtail soup with tempura combo. There were about 6-7 pieces of oxtail, two big daikon pieces and rice. I loved the ginger and green onion taste in the delicious broth and I got all vegetable tempura. Food was good. Friend said there are not too many places which serve some dishes like Chicken tofu and some other favorites. Today is the last day to get your fix. I will miss the good cucumber tsukemono but since i heard it wasn't made in-house, so I will look for it in the stores. The Kabuki restaurant in Waimalu will remain open, since the restaurant is under a different ownership. Some of specials offered here is a little different from the Waimalu location. Best to call your order in advance if you can get through since it may be only Pauline or another lady answering the phone calls as well as taking in the payments. Parking is in front in the marked stalls as you enter from the King Street They will be opened today for lunch and dinner til 8pm. (Don't wait to the end . They are closed between lunch and dinner. No early bird specials since there is no dine-in. Check to see what's available but they do have specials on the menu board beside the regular menu. The lunch bentos can be ordered at dinner except for the two bentos that need to be ordered a day in advance. Aloha and thank you everyone at Kabuki and Pauline who has been taking my order in the past month. Thank you for for staying in business for many years since 1984 and unfortunately this covid pandemic didn't help with the slow business all the added cost of staying in business to open for dine-in. Sad to see you close and we will miss you! Please Support local! Thanks for reading my review!"
