"As always, the servers and staff at Match are top notch. We are regulars. My son in law's parents came to visit from Sault Ste. Marie, and we decided to go to Match for happy hour and then back to our place to watch the Superbowl. Ask me how impressed I was to arrive, be seated, and then to be told there was no happy hour that day. NOT IMPRESSED. We go almost weekly for happy hour. It is held EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It is your establishment and you are absolutely within your rights to decide not to have a happy hour. What was NOT ok, was that there was no prior warning. I initially made the reservation on line no warning there. I called the restaurant itself to amend the reservation several days prior, discussed the fact that it was Superbowl Sunday and why we were coming (happy hour) no warning then either. I am assuming that you value your regular customers, and when you decide to do something like cancelling your regular happy hour, there should be SOME notice given, especially if and when reservations are made. It is a reasonable expectation that you have happy hour daily (you advertise such) and it is also a reasonable expectation that when you cancel something that draws your regular customers, you let them know. Our waitress, Olivia, was wonderful and very apologetic, although it was NOT her fault obviously. She tried her best to recommend drink specials, etc. that could help make up for the lack of happy hour and we very much appreciated that. You have a great establishment, and one of, if not the best, patios in Sarnia. Yet, you continue to make decisions that make it hard for your regulars to continue to patronize (I have many many examples if you wish to hear them), and you also do not make financial decisions to capitalize on the gem that you have. Match Eatery should be THE place to go in Sarnia, you have the facilities and resources available. Experiences like what happened to us yesterday will definitely taint our willingness to come and bring guests."

"My first visit to Knox Burgers will also be my last, and with good reason. Flavorless food, high prices, cramped conditions, and a confused presentation result in a place that looks intriguing at first glance but is little more than a gilded front. We tried two different burgers, onion rings, and sweet potato waffle fries on our visit. The burgers have all the quality of a low-tier fast food burger but without the flavor. Greasy and heaped with toppings, these could at least be palatable burgers if even one aspect of them was done well. The reality, though, is that either the owners don't eat their own food or someone has mischievously hidden the seasoning because the final product is about as appealing as flavorless oatmeal. The fries and onion rings are, astonishingly, even more disappointing. The onion rings are served with a dipping sauce, which is absolutely necessary as the rings have no flavor. They don't even come salted, they are literally just blandly battered onions. Dry and cardboard flavored, even two large men with big appetites pushed them away. The waffle fries are at least lightly salted, but they, too, are bland. A little bit of honey or other addition would go a long way to making them palatable, but unfortunately what could be a delicious treat is almost as bland as the abysmal onion rings. While the food is bland, the restaurant itself is quite the opposite. A schizophrenic blend of Southern culture, patriotic displays, large screen TVs all tuned to different channels, and a hip presentation result in general confusion about who the restaurant is trying to serve. The booths are uncomfortably small and any party larger than two is likely to have a difficult time. The staff are polite, friendly, and well-meaning, but I can't help but notice that they seem under trained and uninformed. Staff stated that food would be brought to the table, but food is instead picked up. No numbers are called, so restaurant goers have to sort of guess and check to see if their meal is up. I could forgive the confusing presentation if the food was even decent, but particularly for the price any interested party would do better to patronize one of the dozens of less expensive and higher quality restaurants – fast food or otherwise – that can be found only a block away from this failing experiment."
