My friend, who is a coffee enthusiast, absolutely loved the coffee, so it must have been outstanding. I have no complaints whatsoever about this place. The waitress was attentive and full of energy. "This is an excellent spot to hang out with friends! I really enjoy the variety of drink options where you are charged by the ounce for whatever you choose to drink. It's a fun way to sample different beers or ciders. There is a wall of options to choose from, where you can grab a glass, insert your beer card provided by the waitress, and pour your own drink. Our group stopped by for lunch before activities at the PL district. It's great to have this option downtown! Most of us ordered the Nashville chicken sandwiches, while I had the sliders. They were delicious! We also had a tasty loaded tater tots appetizer. We will definitely return to enjoy the drinks and food on a game day!"

"Our first time visiting a Mission BBQ location and I was pleasantly surprised! They have a lot of variety of meats, sandwiches and sides to choose from. The service was top notch! I really liked the pro military and first responder decor of the restaurant. The food was good. We tried the brisket (lean), the jalapeño cheddar sausage, the chopped brisket sandwich, macaroni and cheese, and the potato salad. My only complaint was with the sliced brisket. It was a little dry, so I probably wouldn’t order the lean cut again. They have six different BBQ sauces on the table to choose from. Personally I liked the Memphis Belle the best. We look forward to eating here again in the future! "I am giving this restaurant three stars overall. The burgers were rated four out of five, but the fries were disappointing - a small portion for $4 that were too oily and crunchy. I did appreciate that the bun was grilled and slightly crunchy. I tried the green chili burger and was pleased that it wasn't too spicy. If I lived closer, I would consider returning, but it is about a 20-minute drive for me. The mac and cheese was also quite good!"

"I’ve been working in ellicott city over 5yrs and never walked foot into mission bbq due to long 12hr shifts. January 16 2025 changed my life for the better. As a first time customer I couldn’t be more happier. Customer service was amazing from EMMA and BRI both young ladies was very polite and considerate from the time I placed my order to sitting inside the restaurant. EMMA offered delicious samples for me to try before placing my ordered with a warm kind welcome/smile she also gave amazing suggestions. BRI stopped by my table frequently just to make sure I was okay and didn’t need anything extra. She also greeted me with warm/ kind smile. I would like to thanked both young ladies for incredible service and look forward to returning. My food was oh so delicious, ribs very tender all my sides Mac, collard greens and baked beans well seasoned. Just want to add I observed the manager JOSHUA constantly cleaning and tiding up the seating area after each customer left. Great work team I wish everyone a successful year."

"It's hard not to love Mission BBQ when the staff pour their hearts into making sure you have a great time here! My friends and I couldn't leave Virginia without having some great BBQ. We were so excited to try Mission and felt great supporting a business that gives back to service members. Their decorations honor the memories of those who have served. Staff are very invested in ensuring you have a great time. I wanted to try their special Hawaiian steak but when I asked to have it medium rare, the cashier told me, it's seared for a little longer to give it that char to compliment its flavor. He offered to cook it medium rare for me anyway, but I deferred since I wanted to go with the chef's suggestion. My giant 12 oz steak platter came with cole slaw and a hefty hunk of corn bread. It was definitely more than I could handle. The steak had that great charred BBQ flavor and sweet/savory Hawaiian marinade on the outer edges, but the middle was a little dry for my liking. I still found myself enjoying the juicyness and fatty edges, but found myself reaching for one of the varieties of BBQ sauces when it came to the middle. Speaking of the sauces, they are so generous with allowing you to use as much sauce as you please! There are so six different varieties that you can grab and bring back to your table. We had a lot of fun sampling then. While my steak was good, the brisket was absolute perfection. I don't even like brisket that much, but this brisket was so tender, fatty, and just melted in your mouth. Words escape me as I try to describe how luxurious the brisket tasted, the juicy strips just seem to almost dissolve in y our mouth. Long story short, the brisket is a must try and you can't go wrong with a platter so you can pair the meat with some buttery corn bread and cole slaw. Mission definitely fulfills its mission of serving hearty BBQ with love."

This is one of those places where their good dishes are good but some aren't so knowing what to order is key here. Service was great. "Unbelievably the best, hands down barbeque I have ever eaten and I'm from Kansas City, notorious for exceptional BBQ. This place far exceeds any smoked delectibles I have sampled to date. In fact, upon last visit, I ate everything on my plate and went back to the counter and got a second plate, it was that good!!! Plus they have several varieties of BBQ sauce to suit your tastes, as well. The place also has a distictive unique character, with police, fire dept, military service artifacts, pictures, and memorabilia decorating the place. And at certain points all patrons are encouraged to stand and observe the USA national anthem. If you are a veteran, or know anyone who has served, this place might be a treat or at least a special place to show gratitude to them for their service. Aside from that, the apple cobbler is life changing and so delicious, it's a certainty that after eating here you'll become a regular after the first visit. Thank me later! So good!!!"

"As for parking, it's located at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, Maryland (technically in Halfway, Maryland). If you enter either location in your GPS, you shouldn't have any trouble finding it. There are plenty of parking spaces—around 50 per row—so finding a spot should be easy. In terms of kid-friendliness, they offer high chairs, kids' meals, and coloring activities. The restaurant is also wheelchair accessible, with a ramp leading to the sidewalk and designated disabled parking spots in front of each row close to Mission Barbecue. Additionally, I believe they contribute a portion of their profits to veterans, though I'm not entirely certain about that. Regardless, it’s nice to support a place that gives back. I guess this ties into the wheelchair accessibility after all!"

"Is it even legal to give a customer outdated menu prices and never give a warning first hand? It feels like a scam. After we finished eating our food, she gave us the check and we were surprised of the bill. It was no where near our estimation based on the prices she gave. When politely confronted about it, she just said casually that the prices in the menu are old. Like wth?! She never gave an apology or gave us discount either. Mind you the price increase is $4-5 on each order. She even failed to give us the extra order of rice that we pid for. If she was just honest in the first place, we could have visited again BUT we will never come back!!! We value honesty most of all. This business is shady. They should correct that."
