"This sandwich and salad shop offers counter service with plenty of seating both inside and outside. It’s conveniently located just a short walk upstairs and across the street from the pedestrian bridge over the Reedy River near Main St/Wyche Pavilion. The exterior signage isn't huge, but the full tables of diners outside made it clear we had found the right place. The menu features a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches and salads, with options that range from classic to creative, all customizable to your liking. Side options include chips, French fries, pasta salad, potato salad, coleslaw, and more. What surprised us the most was the selection of beer. They had a good variety of craft beers in cans and bottles, all reasonably priced at around $4-5. They also serve wine by the glass or bottle, and it was convenient that the beverage options were displayed clearly. After we placed our order, we received a number to put on our table so waitstaff could find us when our food was ready. Initially, we thought it would be helpful to wait for our drinks at the counter, but the staff preferred that patrons be seated and let them serve directly to the table. Our food arrived in a reasonable timeframe—not too quick, but not unreasonably long. We decided to split the Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak, and it looked so delicious when it came that we let the waitstaff leave before requesting an extra plate. Although the servers aren’t constantly walking around, so we did have to walk back to the counter for our initial drinks, the slight inconvenience is more than worth it for the delicious food they’re preparing behind the scenes."

"I would love to give 5 Mile Cafe a full 5 Stars. I'm not sure if this was a bad day or low staff or some combination, but there were service issues. We were seated outside to our preference. We then sat for over 15 minutes waiting to give our drink order. After the wait, we have our drink and food order. The drinks came fine. Then we waited 40 minutes for food to come out. (Omelet, and Corned beef Hash meals). During those 40 minutes, no refill of iced tea, no offer of water, nor an update for serving the meal were given. This is where I had to drop my rating. When the food came out there was again no offer of a refill. Given the warmth of the morning and delay something should have happened. The food was wonderful. I tasted the Corned Beef Hash and enjoyed the seasoning. It was not just salt potatoes and Corned beef, it was well worth going out to order. My Build your own omelet was broccoli, onions, and bacon with cheese. The broccoli was steamed perfectly to work with the eggs and had good flavor. The bacon was very good and the grilled onions went perfectly. The serving of home fries was appropriate and did not smoother the omelet. I enjoyed the plating of both dishes and the garnish of a piece of watermelon and mint added to the visual satisfaction. I will return and see if the service issue was just that time or if it is a regular problem. The meal was well worth 5 Stars."

The Farm Of Beverly Hills

"The wife and I had some errands to run in Beverly Hills (yes, that's right ? Rodeo Drive, 90210, swimming pools, movie stars ? okay, maybe not those last two). After we had taken care of everything, we walked one block over to have breakfast at The Farm. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. The day was sunny and warm so we chose to sit inside. It is very airy with high ceilings, kind of like a barn. It was 9:30 AM or so and there are not many people inside. We got a booth and looked over the menu. The wife chose the egg sandwich. I knew she was going to because the waitress asked her to choose between fruit, something else, and roasted potatoes. As soon as the waitress said they were roasted fingerling potatoes, my wife had no further questions. She loves those kinds potatoes. I chose their Challah French toast. French toast is my go to dish for new breakfast places. I wanted to see how this restaurant stacked up. We also both had coffee, which was good. The coffee was good. The restaurant was not too noisy so we could enjoy our conversation without having to yell at each other. I was looking out the front of the restaurant and enjoying the parade of eclectic locals and tourists without having to worry about sitting in the sun. Food arrived and it looked delicious. The wife was very happy with her egg sandwich. It comes with bacon, she likes hers crispy, and that is just how they prepared it. Of course, he likes her fingerling potatoes any way the restaurant makes them and they were not burned so she was happy about that. She ate the entire plate, sandwich and potatoes. My food came with a little beaker of maple syrup on the side and the toast was covered in mixed fruit. I'm not really a fruit kind of guy but this fruit was fresh and I ate all of it. The host was thick well cooked and had the slightest hint of cinnamon. Needless to say, I ate the entire plate, too. We were both satisfied and happy with their choices. The coffee kept coming and then it was time to leave. This place is a little more expensive than others I have frequented. However, it is Beverly Hills, one block over from Rodeo Drive and somebody has to pay the rent. I will be back in the area next week and will most likely come back again. One more thing of note. Beverly Hills, like most places in Southern California, is suffering from a severe drought. If you want a glass of water on your table, you have to ask for it, movie star or not."

"Vitality Bowls is such a trendy and healthy little spot! I came here since it seemed like they could easily accommodate for a vegan diet. I landed on the Vitality Wrap without the lemon tahini vinaigrette (it contains honey) and a Matcha Tea Latte with almond milk. The girl who helped me was really sweet and well educated on the menu. She didn?t hesitate when I asked her about what was and wasn?t vegan. The wrap itself was delicious! It was pressed like a panini and was more like a yummy burrito. Since it had the vegan aioli it didn?t taste dry, and the blend of flavors worked well. The wrap was filling and contained a good blend of nutritious ingredients. The matcha tea was tasty as well. The reason for 4 stars was for another employee that worked there. She began working on my latte, then randomly stopped and started talking on her cell phone. I?m not sure if it was a work related call or not, but it felt unprofessional for her to do at the register. The employee who made my wrap ended up doing the latte. This caused a huge delay, and I waited about 20 minutes for everything. I think this is too long for quick service, and I was the only one there. There were also three staff members and a manager, so they didn?t appear to be understaffed. Still, I would like to come back and try more options since what I got was so tasty. Just be expected to wait."
