"we were three times in the red sea when we threw him off. it is always delicious and fresh. the Veg plate feeds 4 people with some leftover, although we always get extra injira. the server is always friendly and service is fast. it is cozy in the inner and attracts a very diverse crown. it is not in any way unusual and connected to a nightclub next door."

"The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with a luxurious lounge full of soft chairs and couches as well as regular tables and chairs. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was great and the portions large. We were intrigued by the honey wine and got some — excellent decision, it's divinely sweet. I got the sampler platter because I wanted to try everything. It's a stunning amount of food, all of which is great. I especially love the gored gored."

"there are fantastic vegan options. the aromen are perfection. I highly recommend the veggie sambusa, veggie prober, buchata and ethiopian nacho. try the buchata with the veggie prober for an explosion of taste and perfect balance of textures the Ethiopian nacho is roasted potato with hummus and salsa. its delicious, crispy and soft at the same time and my current favourite food! if they decide between two things, the Ethiopian nacho must try. Note that on their menu they have marked a dessert with vegan, but in the description of the menu item honey is clearly listed. updated by previous review on 2022-05-18"

"I found Queen of Sheba online while staying in Ft Wayne for the weekend. I wanted to treat the kids to Ethiopian food while on vacation as their dad and I had had it and loved it. Queen of Sheba was the ONLY Ethiopian restaurant in town! We were a little apprehensive at first as the ambiance is very lacking, kind of a hole in the wall place, not decorated very well and we had to fit our large family of 7 at two small round tables. I was very happy we went though! The food was amazing as well as the service and the friendly family that runs the place. The cook herself even came out and served us. A must is getting coffee at the end of your dinner as they have a coffee roasting ceremony and the wonderful coffee bean aroma fills the little place. The kids had a wonderful time trying something new. We will definitely go back!"

"We ordered the Mac and cheese at Gold Cup Wine, and it was absolutely delicious. However, my husband and I also ordered the steak and fries, which were served on a plate that resembled a microwavable dish—not very visually appealing—and the steak was only mediocre at best. The shrimp with pecans was delightful, while the Salamander roll was just average. The cocktails were decent; the espresso martini stood out as above average, but the margarita was merely okay. Overall, the food was quite average, and it didn’t justify the prices on the menu. On a positive note, the resort itself is lovely, boasting a great ambiance with clear attention to detail. I really wish Gold Cup Wine offered better-tasting food given the quality of the hotel."

"I visited this restaurant with friends from the city to celebrate my birthday. They have a section of the menu dedicated to vegan and vegetarian options. When the server learned it was my birthday, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for the table! The service was excellent, and the restaurant was very clean. I highly recommend the veggie sampler!"

"Vegan supreme for exploring a great country and cuisine The sampler plate with a selection of vegan dishes is really enough for 2 so take a container Spicy lentils and chickpeas, collard greens, string beans, beets, etc. served with delicious ample amounts of injera (Ethiopian bread) Always inspired by my late political theory teacher and ambassador to Ethiopia to keep the peace and celebrate the very best in culture Updated from previous review on 2021 05 10"

"Drinks are very pricey. Not the friendliest bar tender. First time here. $35 to go upstairs didn't explain why. Later found out singer was there. Should have said that in the first place. Should always assume this is someone's first time there. Downstairs was cool just lack of seating. This place has potential just needing the right guidance."

"I had never eaten Ethiopian food before. It was an enjoyable experience. A friend and I came here to celebrate her graduation. Employees were so nice and the server was very patient. We ordered the beef and cheese sambussas. Delicious with the sauce they were served with. We shared the Demera Messob for 2: Doro Wot, Ye-beg Wot, Lega Tibs, Dinich Wot(very spicy , Tikle Gomen(omg! , Yatkilt Wat. Honey Wine Sangria and Indaba Sauvignon Blanc, South Africa were both delicious. I’m not into vodka but I’d surely order the sangria myself. We shared their take on Tiramisu which was fantastic! It has their homemade ice cream instead of the custard. I can’t recommend this place enough. It was delicious!!"

"Authentic Ethiopian Food! They serve delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. They have a traditional way of serving the food and the menu explains clearly the way it will be served. The ambiance was good. They did not have multiple options on their lunch menu. But the menu options were fairly large plates with multiple items on them. So you do get a chance to try well-varied flavors of authentic Ethiopian food. This is my husband's go-to place for injera. This time we tried their vegan combo with vegetables, beets, and spicy lentils, their red lentils curry was yummy and the spice was at the right level. Food was hot and fresh tasting with healthy options perfectly loaded with a lot of flavors. The staff is very friendly."

"Our first experience with Ethiopian cuisine was an interesting one. We decided to try the restaurant's most popular dish, which featured cubed lamb shank accompanied by vegetables and lentils, and we kicked things off with some sambosas as an appetizer. We really enjoyed the sambosas; they were definitely the highlight of the meal for us. However, the lamb was a bit chewy and dry, lacking a bit of spice. On the other hand, the lentils were packed with flavor, and we found them quite enjoyable. The service was a bit slow, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t very busy at the time. We noticed a vegetarian section on the menu, and we might explore those options if we decide to return."

"I went to this restaurant with my non-vegan mother tonight, and we shared the veggie combo platter #1. It included spicy red lentils, split peas, collard greens, cabbage potato, green beans, carrots, and tomato salad. The waitress understood what vegan meant, which was reassuring. The platter came with a basket of injera rolls and everything was delicious. I have been trying to introduce my mother to vegan food, and she really enjoyed this meal. Each dish had its own unique flavor which I appreciated. The portion size was perfect for the two of us, but if you're with a friend and have a bigger appetite, I recommend trying combo platter #2 which includes lentil salad and chickpea salad. Our food was prepared quickly, and the waitress mentioned that vegan food is the simplest and best to make. The citrusy/spice tea served with the meal was also a nice touch. The restaurant is labeled as an Ethiopian restaurant on the outside, but the name is on the door. I would definitely return here in the future!"

"This restaurant offers a spacious dining area, perfect for gathering with family or friends. Guests have the option to order takeout or dine in, and can enjoy their meal with a drink at the stand or bar. For those looking to relax with a drink or two, there is seating available at the bar. The restaurant also features 5 TVs for watching sports games while enjoying a delicious meal or drinks. It is a family-owned business with a lively atmosphere, always accompanied by music. I have visited multiple times and have enjoyed each visit. I highly recommend stopping by for some delicious Ethiopian cuisine."

"I've been craving this food for a while, and I haven't ventured out to try other places since the spot I liked closed down. A friend of mine kept telling me to try this place out, but I was hesitant. I finally decided to grab some to go for lunch today, and... I was pleasantly surprised. I got the Veggie combo and Doro tibs. I don't know if she was the owner, but if she was, her service, the great small talk while the food is coming up, and her good food should make her proud. The spice was on point, good portions, I'm sold. You got yourself a new customer. Pardon the grammar, just was excited about sharing my experience."

"I don't know if this still has the restaurant attached, but I have been to the restaurant twice (December 2012 and spring of 2013) and both times the food has been superb. My classmate who is Ethiopian recommended it as her favorite restaurant so the first time we went it was for my birthday. It was my husband's first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and we both loved it. The honey wine was also delicious. The second time I went was with several classmates and it was again the best food. Some of them had not had Ethiopian food before and everyone liked it. I would highly recommend this place above some of the more popular well-frequented locations. This is more of an authentic experience. And FYI, injera as a leftover is quite good with fried eggs, onions, and peppers the next morning!"

"Average Ethiopian restaurant in a fun part of town. The vegetarian platter was enough for two people, but the food itself was ordinary and not particularly flavorful. The wine list is OK but don't write home about it; the beer list, in a city known for its breweries, was completely pedestrian. I ended up not wanting to drink anything at all. The server was very friendly and tried to do a good job, but was not up to the task and seemed overwhelmed trying to cope with the few"

"We visited Maaza29 and even though their expansion construction project is going on, the food was fantastic! I really like the offerings, the menu is robust enough to satisfy many palettes yet focused enough that the offerings were all very good to excellent. The menu just changed so I hope they update their online PDF, some things aren't available and the one super entree I had isn't on the website. You will note the site says Ethiopian Inspired. That's because the owner/chef's parents are Ethiopian and Italian, which makes for a wonderful dining experience! We started with the Sambusa, and a nice surprise was that we could mix/match two of the types (three are offered . Our choices included the Lentil and the Beef. We preferred the beef as it has the right flavor strength to stand up to being deep fried, the lentil was tasty however the deep fry process didn't quite match to lentils. Next time I want to try the Mesir as I do like lentils. : Next was the entree serving, I had a new veal offering in a tomato based sauce which was tender and extremely flavorful. The sauce wasn't a typical tomato based one, the spice mixture made it a smooth yet full flavored accompaniment to the veal. My wife's beef entree was done to perfection as well, and the injera was a great balance with the meal. It all worked together well. For dessert we had choices that were from Italy, and we enjoyed a nice pistachio parfait and an amaretto based dessert that were great, I'd pace myself next time to ensure plenty of room for these tasty treats! The wine list was focused yet solid choices, so the evening or lunch will be a pleasant experience for sure. When the construction is done the Ambiance will score higher and the noise lower. Try it!"

"Had a great experience here!Highly recommended. The atmosphere here is very welcoming with an open floor plan, nice artwork and what seems to be a stage for live performances (would definitely come back for that). From the door host to the servers down to the cook, everyone was attentive, helpful and nice. Most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS! The portions are worth the price point. I started with lentil sambusas. Followed by, makeda tibs with jasmine rice. Along with the veggie combo, however I had double portions of the red lentils, cabbage and string beans, instead of the single six options listed. One unique element about this visit is I was asked if I want injera from here (the US) or from Ethiopia. I paid a little extra to support the shipment of authentic ingredients.Lastly, I will be back!"
