"We visited Pizza Track late at night while in Chicago, eager to try their halal pizza based on numerous recommendations and glowing five-star reviews. We ordered masala fries, a 10-piece wings combo (Buffalo and BBQ), and a deep-dish pizza topped with chicken, jalapeño, and onion. The total came to $70, which felt expensive for food that might satisfy about 3-4 people. The masala fries were just regular fries sprinkled with chaat masala, which was fine and reasonably priced at $3.99. However, the 10-piece wings were $19.99—about $2 per wing—and the sauce wasn’t even mixed in; we had to do that ourselves. The sauces (regular BBQ and Frank’s RedHot) were underwhelming, especially given the high praise these wings received. The large deep-dish pizza cost $33.46, largely because of the $6.49 charge for chicken and $1.99 for each vegetable topping. While the pizza was big and heavy, the flavor was mediocre; there wasn’t enough cheese or sauce, and it could definitely have been better. Overall, there are other pizza options out there that I’d choose over this. (Edit: The owner responded, explaining that the higher prices reflect the cost of hand-slaughtered meat used for both the pizza and wings, so the pricing is fair. While I was surprised, coming from Chicago where halal deep-dish pizzas generally cost less, I understand their reasoning. Our order was actually $61. They also mentioned that the pizza’s size and heaviness are part of its appeal. I appreciate the response—it’s great to see a restaurant engaging with customers.)"
