"Service is amazing and their food is great! I heard about this place through a friend and decided to give it a go since I needed a katsu fix and it’s hard finding a place in Brooklyn that makes good katsu. To my surprise it was actually pretty good. There was a decent amount of meat (not too thin like other restaurants) and layer of breading. Although I found it to be quite dry alone, they provide sauce for you to dip in. The sauce tasted like ketchup? I’m not a huge fan of the sauce and I would prefer if they offered other options with their katsu like curry but it satisfied me till my next trip ??"

"I stooped by here on a Wednesday night as this place used to be very popular years ago. Upon entering you get a fishy smell which I already did not like. I know this place serves sushi but the odor of fish is not really a good sign.We sat down and someone came to take my order after 5 min which was pretty decent. I got the chicken katsu with their soup, the fried dumpling appetizer and a combo fried rice. the food took some time to come out but it wasn't such a long time. upon receiving it I was disappointed with the taste of the food. the fried dumplings were the best out of everything ordered and the food was edible but the taste felt different than what I am used to at other locations. the chicken katsu was missing flavor in the crust/batter so it tasted a bit bland to me. the combo fried rice had an odd taste that I only enjoyed the shrimp on it and not the pork or chicken mixed into it."

"A nice place in general! Sushi/rolls are delicious, Cabernet Sauvignon are so so… The atmosphere is nice as well, especially tall sofas so you can't see anyone on another tables. What I didn't like is that the waitress brought me the bill before I even asked and finished the drinks. I've ordered another round."

"Walked in to chikurin to order classic rolls to go, on 86 street in Brooklyn, but they happen to be thief’s who charged my card later after I left for more than what I already paid for at the time of my visit. Ordered take out classic rolls, they charged that plus taxes came out to a price that I paid. "Worst sushi I 've ever had!We walk in and I thought it suspicious that the place was empty in New York city at almost 8pm. We were starved. Ordered from the extremely overpriced menu, the specialty rolls were ridiculous in price. Every thing is an add-on charge including inside out .We thought perhaps the place was dead due to the price being too much. Ordered our food, waiter didn 't bother telling us that it comes with only brown rice. It was hard and did not taste good. The Toro roll was mushy and minced. I was told to not add anything to it as it will spoil the taste but it wasn 't even a piece of fish. I wish I was told it wasn 't a real piece of fish and instead was a mushy substance that may be some fish mixed in. It was the leftover bits ground up together and tasted awful. The sashimi was ok though they added some sweet eel sauce to my salmon which killed it for me and the toro sashimi had an after taste but wish I had just gotten just sashimi, however the price was too ridiculous for a single piece. Oh and the Wasabi did not even pretend to be Wasabi. I would never go back there and never recommend this place. Not sure how they got over 4 stars. My friend felt the same about her food and she felt sick after our meal. One of her rolls was supposed to be Yellowtail with avocado. I opened one and there was just teeny bits of fish randomly in the roll. Picture attached. I was searching for the piece of Yellowtail. I found a few little bits randomly mixed in with the rice. Most disgusting display of cutting corners and screwing customers at an exorbitant price. Overall not worth it. Im a sushi lover and this turned me off for a while. I Will NEVER go back."
