"If you want great Ethiopian food, this is the place for you. It is real Ethiopian food and you will feel like you are there. They don't try to Americanize it, it is just great. When you walk in you are over taken by the wonderful smell of spices and fresh food. You just want to eat and eat a lot. They have a great menu and there is not a bad thing on it. Many of the dishes comes with the traditional flat spongy bread that you use to eat your food. I think they have forks if you want, but the bread is the best way to eat this magical food. Queen of Sheba is in a little strip mall and it does not look special on the outside, but wait until you walk in. Parking can be trying. There is a lot right in front but there are a few places in this little mall. None the less, give it a minute and spot will open. Cars come and go pretty fast. There is also some street parking but mind the signs--those tickets are expensive. It is right on La Brea, a big street that goes for the most part north and south. Just stay on La Brea. The inside is warm and relaxing. You are never rushed and the service is perfect. They will help you with the menu if you need. They get your order right and it is served so pretty and hot. We love their Doro Wet Chicken stew which is just chicken stew slowly cooked in a rich flavor of herbs, spice and chili. I have to eat mild food now and they are always able to help me out. I miss the spicier food, but my body says don't even think about it. Their Chicken Tlbis White is melt in your mouth wonderful with lots of chicken fried in purfied butter and seasoned so wonderfully. Also, try their Vegetarian Combination which is a delightful combination of yemesir wot, yater alicha, gomen, cabbage and salad. You can't go wrong with any of these dishes. My grandson loves their penne pasta which is made in Ethiopian style pasta and sauce. It is a great way to start a kid off with Ethiopian food. He always orders it. I prefer the more traditional dishes. The prices are fair and you get a lot of food. It is a happy place.
