"For many years, this restaurant has been our go-to spot before heading to the SF Playhouse for a show. We were greatly saddened by its closure during the pandemic, but have been thrilled to return in the past 18 months. Due to the circumstances, Café Bastille and its sister restaurant, B44, have combined into one space with a menu that features favorites from both French bistro classics and Spanish tapas and paella. We have sampled most of the dishes from both cuisines, and they have all been outstanding, earning 4 or 5 stars for their perfect preparation and presentation. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and welcoming, with excellent service that is both friendly and professional. The restaurant boasts a full bar and a relatively short wine list, with mostly French and Spanish selections. Our wine experiences have ranged from nice to excellent, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meals."
