"First off, I was astounded by the pricing. Charging $0.60 for a single piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a few slivers of onion is simply outrageous. I can understand an upcharge for bacon or cheese, but extra charges for basic veggies? $2.00 for that? It's completely unacceptable. I’ve traveled quite a bit and have never encountered such a practice anywhere! It’s especially frustrating when the staff member asks, "Do you want lettuce, tomato, and onion?" and my wife says yes, without being informed that those items would incur an additional charge. There were no signs indicating this either, which feels misleading.
To top it all off, the service at the bar was horrendous. We were left waiting to order drinks while our food sat out getting cold. There was nobody else ahead of us, and the bartender ignored our presence for a solid ten minutes. In the end, we decided to just grab water and take our seats. It was disappointing, particularly since it was my birthday and we had hoped to toast the occasion with a drink. Instead, we had to settle for our water cups.
The prices are already steep, especially considering the area is touristy and the current inflation rates. But the poor service and hidden fees for basic items like lettuce are unacceptable. We’ll never return, as it’s a matter of principle. I would have been okay with the prices if the service had been stellar, but the place was nearly empty except for a few patrons at the bar. To add insult to injury, while we waited, we watched the bartender prepare her own drink and enjoy a sip while making two others—meanwhile, we stood ignored. It was so bad that my wife had to ask if we order there, despite knowing that was the protocol.
We spent $40 on two sandwiches and a large order of fries. The sandwiches were decent and flavorful, but they are not worth the deceptive pricing and awful service. We had to place our orders at two separate counters—one for food and another for drinks—which meant paying twice for one meal. Plus, we had to bus our own table. Where’s the value in that?
I might expect poor service on a busy summer weekend, but this was a Tuesday at 5 PM after Labor Day. No excuses. The prices are far too high for the quality provided. It’s high time consumers stop accepting mediocre experiences. With inflation making our money more precious, we can’t afford to accept subpar service regularly. It’s time to stop dining at places that don’t offer us a true value for our money."
