"I have dined at this restaurant many times before, typically during the holidays. It is one of the few restaurants that stay open for business during Thanksgiving and X'mas. While the food is OK (not exceptional but reliable), I have noticed that over the last few years, the service of the restaurant has gone downhill. After I was seated at the counter, it took them over mins to get service. And then it took forever (another mins) for the food to arrive. Being seated at the counter, I was able to observe the chaotic (and completely disorganized) action at the open food prep. For example, I notice that my salad (it required no cooking) was sitting on the counter for at least mins before someone brought it to me (I was literally an arms reach away). And then, my main course, (a black Cod) took another mins to arrive. Granted it was Thanksgiving and they may be under staff, but since they have decided to stay open for the holiday, I would expect management to be better prepared. In any case, the redeeming part of the experience is my server (I think her name is Christina from Milano) whenever she had time for me. She was friendly and helpful and seems genuinely cared that I get my food in a timely way. But she was helpless since the kitchen did not cooperate! Maybe it's time for me to try another restaurant in Santa Monica next holiday."
