"Very busy takeout service meant pizza orders were delayed by 45 minutes. Not really a problem for us but something to be aware of when visiting. We ordered Fred ravioli, a large antipasti salad, Tuscan chicken pasta and chicken parm. We took half of that home with us, the portions are big. The service from our waiter was excellent, drinks were kept topped up and we were looked after. This is good hearty Italian American faire and it's good but it isn't something you're going to rave about to friends and family. It's a good option for an evening and you'll enjoy your stay."

"Loved this cute little restaurant! Kinda like a hidden gem in the Middleton area. The atmosphere was very nice, may have been a little small but not cramped or uncomfortable. The food was amazing, one of the best Italian dishes in the area. The cocktails were both well-made and had a good amount of alcohol, not too much or too little. My favorite was the gelato, it was perfectly smooth and the flavor was great! My husband and I plan to come back again, might even bring some family with us!"

"I made a reservation for 25 for a post memorial service family dinner at Simple Palate. They opened the restaurant early and brought in staff 2 servers and 2 cooks just for our group. However, we showed up at the restaurant with almost 50 family members twice as many as expected and twice as many as they had planned for. What did owner Kevin Romanko of Simple Palate do? He welcomed us with open arms without complaint! The two servers that came in early just to serve us worked tirelessly and without complaint for two and a half hours!! The two cooks quickly prepared the food for our unexpectedly large group. At no point during our visit did the owner Kevin or his two servers ever show the slightest sign of discontent. They happily took care of all of us. This was my first visit to this restaurant. The owner and his staff turned what was a difficult time of grief for my family into a positive family memory. Thank you Kevin, thank you two cooks (whose names I do not know), and thank you two special servers who came in early and handled a large crowd with class. I highly recommend Simple Palate!"

"Last night, I had an amazing pizza at this restaurant. The crust was delicious, the sauce was tasty, and the toppings were of great quality. The pepperoni and sausage were authentic and not cheaply bought. My husband had the fried haddock with mashed potatoes, and the piece of fish he received was huge and tasty. Even the kids pizza was well-loved by our youngest. Our oldest tried the manicotti and found it unlike anything we had before. The desserts were also exceptional. The prices were worth it, especially compared to Olive Garden. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ensuring our drinks were full. The restaurant had a great atmosphere with happy customers. We can't wait to come back again."

"My mother came in from San Diego at the last min so we made reservations for Thanksgiving. Place was real neat with the decor etc. Server and person that sat us was real nice but the food was not. My mother asked if it was possible for her to get dark meat for her turkey which isn't usually s problem when most people ask for white meat server said she'd check. The salad and soup was awesome but when we received our food my mother had all white meat. You could tell I had mixed dark and white my mother mentioned to the server hers was all white meat server took the plate away and returned quickly and said cook said it's dark. You could easily see the difference in her meat compared to my dark meat. So my mother continued eating because she doesn't like to complain. So I noticed my potatoes and Mac and cheese we're both cold I didn't say anything because I didn't want to complain in front of my family and bring down the mood but then my mother asked if my food was cold too ? So I guess hers was cold also but we were full. by then. I mentioned it to the server so she could let kitchen know that their well warmer might not be on. My mother was very disappointed because with just water we spent around $160 and were in and out in like 25 min on thanksgiving."

"we have booked a table for 5 (2 adults and 3 children) for 7 o'clock and reached there a few minutes early. the restaurant seemed very busy and it was clear that they had not actually reserved us table, as they put our name on a list of waiting mozens. we wait for half an hour and give them enough time to find a table. but also after that, the answer was that maybe it could take a little longer before they could get us a table. we left. I am glad that the restaurant was busy with so many people who wanted to eat there. I found it unacceptable, however, that they would make reservations, but do not respect the reservations."

"The absolute best vibes and food/drink for literally any occasion. From personal experience I can recommend this cafe for meeting with family while they’re passing through town, a first date, a special occasion, a long study/work session punctuated by snacks and coffees, and much more. Truly such a wide array of food/drinks and such perfect vibes that any meetup or solo work day can and should take place here. The only drawback is the parking lot is very small and occasionally hard to maneuver in but that’s not their fault and it’s worth it for the vibes, staff, food, drinks, and everything else about this place."

"First time stopping in to Sonney 's. Food was spectacular and the place has a great vibe. I had the Combo Platter w/ brisket, beef ribs, loaded baked potato, side salad and jalapeño cornbread! So much food...definitely could share this between two people easily. My only reason from dropping this down from 5 to 4 stars was the hostess that sat us. She was less then friendly and never asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. She just grabbed a couple menus and said this way ...led us to a table put the menus down and walked off. I watched her do this with a few other parties as they arrived also. Maybe she was just having a bad day but that first impression goes a long way. Other than that the staff were wonderful. Our waiter was great! For the food the ribs were pretty good...not overly meaty but decent. The brisket was perfect and the baked potato was a good size without being too large. Nice little side salad and a great jalapeño cornbread. They have four different bbq sauces at your table; a Carolina sauce, a sweet smoky sauce, the Original sauce and something they call the Burn Your Butt sauce (I stayed away from that one!! . My other recommendation would be to request no sauce on your meats. They came with some sauce on them but I would prefer to try the different sauces without mixing them together. Will be eating leftovers for a couple days. Again I recommend sharing a platter unless you are very hungry or want lots of leftovers!!!"

"The food was amazing. Great service. Very nice atmosphere and ambiance. The outdoor seating was great and very clean. I had the Parthenon dip as an appetizer: Spinach, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, feta cream and fries pita. I had Lobster stuffed ravioli as my entree: Truffle oil, Parmesan cream, spinach. I will definitely return! Lots of free parking as well. Although it was a nicer venue, it was not unreasonable expensive. It was also very good portions."

"This place has a wow factor for it food. They 're menu lists a lot of made from scratch dishes. They claim their Mac and Cheese is the best around. Ha! I was skeptical at best, but they are having a special where if you order two entries for a total of twenty bucks, you get a crock free. So, what the heck! Oh. My. Gosh. They are RIGHT!!! We 've had a lot of M&C and this, by far was the best!! They use heavy cream plus different cheeses and the result is *Heaven in a Crock. I 'm not kidding. I was assured that every crock is made fresh, individually, and from scratch! It was amazing.So many of their dishes are so delish. My husband loved his kielbasa and kraut. He 's also tried their shrimp and sausage stir fry and fish and chips all were wonderful. I 've had the fish and chips as well and their spaghetti with marinara sauce and, again, both were excellent.I 'm taking away one star because their chicken picatta was very dry. And, although very tasty, I found three bones in their chicken tortilla soup. But I won 't hold that against them! I 'll be back!"

"Sunday Brunch Date with the Hubs. Had a wonderful server, Tatiana, who helped us navigate the menu and everything she recommended was a hit! We loved our bacon wrapped date appetizer, Wellington Benedicts and berry cake. Our drinks were great (I had the Sangria, hubby had many screwdrivers) that Tatiana timed perfectly. "Food is always great there, but we sat for 20 min before anyone even took our order. We ordered an appetizer which took another 30 min to arrive while we watched people who arrived after us being served their dinners already. Our dinner arrived less than 10 minutes later, so we weren't able to finish the appetizer. We had only 20 minutes to eat before we had to leave to see the show at Playhouse Square. The food is delicious and the waiters friendly, but we kept being overlooked while they paid lots of attention to the tables on either side of us and in other parts of the dining room. I would only recommend this restaurant to someone who planes to spend two hours eating dinner. The service was very slow both times we've eaten here. The previous time, dinner service was fine, but it took 20 minutes to get our check after our dishes had been cleared away."

"I loved this place!! The wonderful man in my life brought me here for the first time the other night, and It was a wonderful little place. The atmosphere, people, staff members, and ambiance were simply wonderful!! The food is so good, and the portions are no joke, I ordered the Gnocchi with Bolognase sauce, and it comes with a salad. It was delicious. I was able to eat a good amount, take the rest home, and still was able to make 2 meals out of the leftovers. I did try to Tiramisu with the amaretto, and I felt like I was in HEAVEN!! It was silky, delicious, not too overpowering, and just melted in my mouth. I 100% recommend this place. Perfect for a first date, night out, or family dinner."
