"This place was excellent!! From the food to the server, as well as the manager that came over to greet us. We did think that we were going to have basic experience by the way the host in the front had come off, not rude or anything, just super dry and straight face. But once we sat down, we were super impressed. The gesture of the happy birthday decor, to our super fantastic waitress Hannah, and the food had us wanting more, but we were so stuffed. The portions were more than we expected, and it was worth every penny. We know that this is a steakhouse, but if you are reading this, please try the stuffed chicken. It is the best! We see exactly why people rant about this place. We are definitely coming back."

"My husband and I decided to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary at Ruth Chris’s Steak House, hoping for a classy and elegant experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the lack of adherence to the dress code by other diners. We saw people in hoodies, jeans, sneakers, and even baseball hats (some worn backwards). There were strollers, children running around, and even a crying baby - it felt more like Chuck E Cheese than a fine dining establishment. Despite this, the staff, waiter, and food were all excellent. We spoke to the manager, who was understanding and sympathetic to our concerns. We recommend reinforcing the dress code to restore the restaurant's elegance and make it a more appropriate choice for special occasions."

"We made reservations for an anniversary dinner. Ruth's Chris doesn't disappoint. Food was great, service was awesome and the ambiance was nice. This was a first visit to this location on LaCantera Parkway. Downside was my vehicle being broke into and ruining the rest of our evening plans. Signs said surveyed by camera - no necessarily true. The buildings are surveyed. Of course, not really the fault of Ruth's Chris but waiting an hour to report it since we live just outside SA was definitely a downer. Next time - UBER for sure."

"My wife and I took a couple to dinner at Ruth Chris to celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary. I made reservations about a week in advance. When we arrive on time, I was told there would be a 15 20 minute wait for a table. This was the start of what turned out to be a terrible evening. We finally were seated and I noticed that there were numerous tables that were set up but were empty!! We ordered our food without any problems but when our food arrived the filet that my wife and I ordered looked like a flat piece of beef, not a normal looking filet. I asked the waiter if this was really a filet and he assured me it was. I told him I had never before seen a filet look like these two steaks. My wife cut into her steak and it was tough and full of grissle. I gave her my steak which was tough but not a bad as hers. I tried to eat her steak but it was hopeless it was so bad. I called the waiter over and told him of the problem. He stated that he would get me another steak. By that time I was to ticked off that I told him to remove the cost of the steak from the bill , which he did. What was supposed to be a gala celebration turned out to be nothing but a big flop. Our friends steaks were okay so they said but I think that they were just trying to be nice. I would never recommend anyone go to Ruth Crisp for lunch or dinner. Even tho I was not charged for my steak my bill was slightly over $400 and no one in the group drank wine or any other alcoholic beverage!!!! And my wife split a Salad!!! There are numerous other steak houses in the San Diego area that are outstanding. My advice go to one of them!!!!! Parking: Valet parking was $12 and the parking attendant was anything but friendly."

"Was a unique and great experience for the price. We started off with a sleight ride and had a great guide. In the middle we stopped and ate some authentic Montana chili and had some drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Then after we ended with the rest of the sleigh ride. The sky was lit up that night with so many stars, beautiful sight."

"This was my first time at a Ruth 's Chris, so here is my brutally honest opinion based on how it went: Pros: arrived 15 min late, however were seated almost instantly food quality is decent meat cooked to preference quiet ambiance Cons: staff was uncomfortably overattentive for the wrong reasons staff felt like they were all hiding a secret the secret was a classic trick: fast in, slow out (be prepared to be forgotten when you want the check, seen million of times there was a floor guy with glasses in a suit who kept hovering our table and looking at wine bottles on the wall the same dude (manager? kept asking us in a frantic tone if everything was to expectation like we insulted him, a bit much food quality was decent but honestly the meat tasted prefrozen or like off in texture, just not what you expect for the price paid at all (been to plenty of non chain nyc steakhouses that stomp this place for equal price or not much more mashed potatoes are solid but also nothing to write home about, don 't taste super fresh overall feeling that they were understaffed and out of sync We were placed in mostly empty room that was huge and would only see our waitress one every blue moon. Theres room for a lot of improvement but the effort is there. No one wants to be in a tryhard classy setting when it 's all a facade. Act the part and stop helicoptering your customers, it 's quite strange. We are human not specimens to be studied, we know y 'all are worried people are catching onto the song and dance to hide the fact their money isn 't going to mean much at Ruth 's. I write this to help this chain because I 'm not blaming anyone in particular, just telling it how it was and it was weird! I won 't be coming back because it wasn 't great paying so much to see the classic fast in, slow out trick being pulled so predictably from the start (everyone acting so overly zealous and attentive until you need the check the wait was almost 30 minutes hostage style . We especially knew we were screwed when the waitress walked away and said take your time . Anyway, good luck to this place, seems you have a lot of good intentions that are terribly misguided and the failure to close out tables is disappointing after what your customers pay. If people have had a similar experience, i only hope this review serves as constructive criticism for the better!"

"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"As we were seated I. This full restaurant, I was quite surprised that the noise level was so low…and the service was on point! Our server, Dave was very attentive, professional and “connected” with my daughter, son-in-law and myself on a personal level. The meal was outstanding, but it was all of our observation, at the end, of the busier named Evona. This gentleman never let a glass of water be half empty, not an empty plate sit! The three of us are/have been business owners and recognize outstanding employees and especially those with the “team attitude”. Evona is an outstanding employee in our eyes!"

"The food was enjoyable, and the service was exceptional! The staff were always on hand to attend to any needs. I ordered a steak, but it wasn't cooked exactly to my liking, so they brought out a small grill to finish it for me, which I thought was impressive—though my admiration was mainly for the service. Unfortunately, the prices were quite steep compared to the quality of the food. I would prefer great service with a good steak for around $20 rather than paying $55 for a mediocre steak, even with outstanding service. Thankfully, I was using a gift card for my meal. I would consider returning, but only if I had another gift card."
"I had dinner at this establishment and I must say, it was quite an experience. The meal price was reasonable, ranging between $50 to $100 per person. The food was exceptional, earning a solid 5 out of 5, with the filet being a standout dish. The service was equally impressive, also receiving a 5 out of 5 rating; the staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. However, the atmosphere left a bit to be desired, scoring a 3. It's decent, but it could use some improvements to enhance the overall dining experience. To top it off, I highly recommend the classic cheesecake for dessert—it was delightful!"

"I 'm out with my family trying to celebrate my wife 's birthday and enjoy a nice dinner when I hear this very loud person at the large table in the back. Despite numerous requests by staff to lower his voice, the person continued to be loud and obnoxious, ruining the evening for everyone around him. Hey, hey, hey all evening long. Ruth 's Chris is a great place to eat, but if you go there and hear that phrase, try somewhere else. You will not be able to enjoy the evening with that person in the room. Update: Management came to us and apologized for the loudness of the other customer(s) and in the end provided accommodations to were we and I 'm assuming the other party were satisfied. Ruth 's Chris is still a great place for fine dining. They have earned my business and respect."

"Such a great experience from beginning to end! I wish I could put 5 stars for service and it surely be because Seana was amazing in every way. However, the guy who packed our food didn’t pack our remaining appetizers up. Which was super disappointing because there was so much of it left. And I specifically told the waiter/ server helper person who bagged it up for us, I wanted four boxes(remaining entrees, sides and appetizer)and all of it bagged up. Only to be disappointed when we got home and there was no goat cheese with artichoke dip to watch with our movie. Overall though, dinner was great, atmosphere and our “regular” server Seana AMAZING. The helper waiter/ server I will definitely watch when packing up our food next time we’re in."

"The hostess was unfriendly the moment we arrived , apparently people eating there can go in and eat in beach wear attire on a Saturday evening. I understand that Florida’s casual but for an upscale restaurant anything goes???? The Steaks were over cooked and the food was cold. The restaurant was so cold inside that you couldn’t enjoy the meal, everyone at my table just wanted to leave because it was so uncomfortable cold inside the restaurant. I asked about the restaurants temperature and the server said they have had A/C issues? Unfortunately  it will be along time before I go back and eat at any Ruth Chris restaurants, there are many other steak restaurants in southwest Florida to return to and those restaurants will have a dress code standard. I am just so disappointed because I have been eating at Ruth Chris restaurants for 25 years from coast to coast and tonight was the end! Ruth Chris was a restaurant with high standards, quality food, and took they pride in their brand. They are now on the same level as Texas roadhouse. "
