"We visited Lou's today, having been told in the past that this was a nice place to dine. That could not have been more untrue; quite the opposite. Perhaps a new owner took over at some point, and the place has now become substandard. When my party and I entered the restaurant, we noticed three staff members chatting with each other near a table at the back. They saw us but continued to chat without acknowledging us. Eventually, one of them approached us and directed us to a small table in a dark corner. When we asked to sit at a more desirable table, she agreed, and we were seated there. We were not welcomed into the restaurant; instead, menus were left on the table, and the employee walked away, never asking if we wanted anything to drink, etc. After that, we waited about 15 minutes before someone came by to take our order; as the minutes ticked by, we talked about leaving rather than staying to dine there. In the meantime, we watched various employees standing near the kitchen or chatting with others before someone finally came over to take our order. The server, having taken our order, took off without allowing us to place a beverage order. So we waited yet again before being allowed to order drinks. It should be noted that after we were finally served our iced tea, there was a point when we requested a refill, but that never happened. We tried to flag someone down, our server or the busboy, but we were rebuffed. After a few minutes, our drinks arrived, followed by our food. However, the two side dishes we ordered were not brought to the table simultaneously. When I inquired about the missing side order of toast, the server seemed annoyed. When the toast finally showed up, it was only half-toasted; one half of each bread slice was toasted, while the other half was untoasted white bread. The ham and cheese omelet was unlike any I've had, as the cheese was placed on top (two thin slices of American cheese) of the omelet rather than being placed inside. The little ham inside lacked flavor, resulting in a bland experience. As requested, the hash browns were crispy but lacked discernible flavor and were oddly shaped like a perfect rectangle. My wife ordered a side of pico de gallo, composed of mostly diced pieces of tomato, which was basically flavorless. To sum it up, our food lacked flavor, and the service was inattentive and lazy. Many restaurants in our area offer the same type of menu, restaurants where we are treated well and attentively, and the food is good. We won't be returning to this place."

"I've been looking for a new breakfast place since Jac's closed and I was very happy with my experience here! I ordered Irish eggs benedict with home fries and corn bread as takeout. One other review commented on their poached eggs being over hard but I'm not a fan of runny eggs so finding mine were over medium was perfect for me. The portions were generous and the ratio of the benny ingredients was good with delicious homemade hash. My only constructive criticism was the English muffin could've been less toasted to make it easier to cut but it was delicious to eat! Home fries had a lot more flavor than I expect from breakfast diners so I was very happy with them. Then the cornbread! Omgosh. I am so fussy about cornbread and had yet to find somewhere in New England that makes a good one but dang, this cornbread was incredible. I would literally go back for just cornbread lol. I probably will soon. The takeout service was super quick and friendly. I got the impression they really care about their customers and want us to have a good experience. I asked to purchase a cookie and she said they are trialing them as a new offering and gave me two for free, how sweet! I consider myself a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur and try them every where I go. These are a crispy style cookie, which is not my personal preference, but the recipe is perfect. Very good flavor cookie, I would love to see them bake them on a lower temp and/or shorter time for a softer cookie but as a new product trial, they are definitely on the right track! I will be back!"

"A few minutes later, she returned with some chips, watery salsa, and the horchata. You might think this review is starting to go downhill, but this is where everything changed. I took a sip of the horchata, and my taste buds were in heaven! It had a wonderful cinnamon flavor—just a tad on the sweeter side, but absolutely delicious. Honestly, I’ve never had horchata this good before! About ten minutes later, my breakfast burrito arrived, cut in half, alongside the same watery salsa. When I added the salsa to the burrito, it brought out a mild smoky flavor that was simply delightful. And my breakfast? Oh my gosh! Everything about it was incredible! The chunks of potatoes tasted better than any home fries I’ve ever had! It had a light chorizo flavor with a wonderful bacon aftertaste, and the burrito was perfectly juicy. It has been over 30 years since I’ve had a breakfast burrito this amazing! I must have been making some noise while enjoying my food—I think the woman overheard me having a food moment! I told her at least five times how good it was, and she just smiled and shot me that stern look again. I really think she might have a soft side because she even asked if I wanted a refill on my horchata or some water. I declined, as I was completely satisfied—my eyes were still rolled back in delight! In summary, I would give this place five stars if they took some time to clean up a bit. But as for the food? Five stars all day, every day!"
