"It's October and you know what that means..... OKTOBERFEST!!This German girl loves her German food and takes full advantage this time of year! I saw an ad in the Bronx Times for P.J Bradys with a special Oktoberfest menu that had me salivating and I had to go!This place is a neighborhood restaurant and bar established in 1998 and is a local favorite. Their windows are all painted for fall with a colorful autumn theme and you hear the laughter and singing from the street! The atmosphere was very cool with a fun group at the bar singing all my favorite songs from Mama Mia and the 70's-80's. Our server Katherine was great and took very good care of us from beginning to end with accommodating special requests and suggestions. I like my Oktoberfest beer this time of year and they had a great one by Shipyard called Pumpkin head, they kindly rimmed a glass with honey and cinnamon and I was happy. We started out ordering their popular chicken wings with Blue cheese and ranch dip which were very good! My Oktoberfest special of Jager schnitzel came with red cabbage and Spätzle but I traded the Spätzle for the potato pancakes with apple sauce which was no problem. It also came with a home style chicken and veggie soup that was like moms with tons of chunks of chicken and savory soup. My german cuisine was a huge platter of food that was excellent! It brought me back to my childhood! We also ordered a roast beef with cheese on a roll which was so good with just right crispy French fries! I was going to order their pumpkin cheesecake but they were out due to its popularity, so I will have to go back again! Stop in this month to enjoy a full Oktoberfest menu including pot roast, Hungarian beef goulash, Wienerschnitzel, Jager schnitzel, bratwurst and more! Special shout out to my friend who works there too, Katie Angel!"

"Let me please introduce myself I 'm a man of wealth and taste And I laid traps for troubadours Who get killed before they reached Bombay (Jagger/Richards) I 've seen this oddly shaped building with an Indian restaurant forever. I finally made my way in for a meal last night. The first thing you see when you walk in is the remnants of their old buffet table. They were known for their lunchtime buffets, but they 're now a thing of the past. The good sized dining room has a tin ceiling, yellow painted walls, and dark brown furniture. As I sat down, a super friendly young guy brought me a complimentary plate of papadum cracker bread with ramekins of onion chutney and tamarind sauce. The tamarind was great, like a thick and sweet Hoisin sauce. Now it was time to check out their daunting five page menu. I wanted to try something different, and the phrase prepared in the Afghan style caught my eye. Since never have I ever tried Afghan food, I went with their $16.95 Chicken Balti. Served with Basmati rice, the menu described it as with peppers, onion and cinnamon . I wasn 't familiar with the word Balti , so I researched it and learned the word means a metal pot from Northern India (near Afghanistan) that cooks the food and is then presented to the table for serving. When I ordered, my young waiter asked if I wanted it spicy, so of course I said yes. In a few minutes out came a bowl of Basmati rice and a Balti pot full of chicken chunks, sliced peppers and onions, in a delicious spicy brown curry. I LOVED my dinner! The curry was delicious, with plenty of the deep flavors I love in Indian food. And yes, it was medium spicy with a nice after-burn. I did think the chicken was a little overcooked, and far from tender. All in all, I loved my dining experience at Bombay. The food and smiling service were excellent."

"It is beyond me how I've never been here before. My mother, sister, son, and I came here for dinner on a Thursday evening around 5pm. I must admit, I was a little confused when we pulled into the parking lot, for there was only 1 vehicle that I could see. Also, the sign was a bit hidden so I thought it was an abandoned building at first. As we entered the restaurant, you'll see it has more of a mini grocery store vibe to it. All along the left wall you'll see metal shelves full of all types of oils, vinegars, jellys, spices and sauces. You'll also find desserts, an olive bar, wines, and other drinks. Just around the corner you'll see the dine in area and we were immediately welcomed and shown our table. We were given menus and had our drinks taken. We ordered the hummus dip appetizer and their Mediterranean garlic bread. The hummus was delicious and was accompanied with tomatoes, pickles and pita bread. Their garlic bread was amazing! It had cheese, butter, and their roasted red pepper pesto that made my mouth sing. Our server was gracious enough to bring us a sampling of their tomato soup that doubled as a dip for the bread. Wonderful!! My son ordered their kids pizza which he loved. I ordered their beef kabab platter, and my sister and mom ordered the salmon kabab and the chicken kabob. We all loved these dishes. The proteins were all cooked to perfection, the vegetables were roasted with the perfect amount of seasoning and grill marks, and the rice was yummy. We ended up getting several cookies and Ugly Ducklings to go for dessert. I'm in love. and I will be coming back!!"

"On a tranquil Monday evening, we ventured into Centreville to explore the flavors of Lezzet Bistro—a Mediterranean gem waiting to be discovered. Yelp had dubbed it as such, and true to its reputation, the restaurant embodied the essence of Mediterranean cuisine. As we entered, the calmness and cleanliness of the establishment set the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. Despite being the sole table occupied, we remained hopeful that Lezzet Bistro would deliver on its promises—and we were not disappointed. With satiated appetites, we decided to sample the cauliflower as an appetizer, followed by the grilled whole sea bass as our main course. The cauliflower arrived with an element of surprise, though not entirely in the way we anticipated. While the portion size left something to be desired for the $10 price tag, we were disheartened to find that 50% of the florets were excessively salty. Yet, in a strange twist, this unexpected salinity prompted us to quench our thirst with extra sips of water—a silver lining, if you will. However, the same cannot be said for the grilled sea bass. Regrettably, it lacked the vibrant seasoning that we yearned for, presenting itself as a rather plain grilled fish.In conclusion, Lezzet Bistro offers a pleasant dining experience within the realm of Mediterranean cuisine. While our visit may not have yielded exceptional culinary discoveries, it remains a viable option for those seeking a taste of the Mediterranean in a serene setting. We depart with the hope that future visits may uncover hidden delights and flavors that truly transport us to the shores of the Mediterranean."
