"I have always believed that things happen for a reason, and my experience today confirmed that. My husband and I wanted brunch but couldn't get in where we planned to eat. We decided to try The Duke House and we're extremely happy we did. As this was our first visit our server gave us a tour so we could choose where we wanted to be seated. Every room is beautifully decorated, and we chose the sunroom. It was nice to watch the pedestrian traffic as we enjoyed our time there, and I felt as if we were in a wonderful section of a large city. Our choices were the 224 Scramble (his) and the crepes (mine), the filling of the day for which was strawberries with creme Anglaise. Delicious is the only word needed to describe our meals. We ended with a wonderful gluten free orange ginger cake that was so beautifully presented (as were all of our choices) that I wish I had photographed it. In addition, I must add that our server, Nancy, was personable, professional, and knowledgeable. All added up to a delightful experience which we are looking forward to repeating soon."
