"We were visiting Playa del Carmen and decided to try something different during our stay. We booked “the Experience” which combines a guided tour in the Frida Khalo museum followed by a private 6-course menu paired with drinks, all inspired by the life of Frida Khalo. The service was impeccable and they did an amazing job explaining the food and drinks, tying them to the life and experience of this eccentric woman. The dinner is served in a private room in the restaurant that has projectors shooting videos and images on the four walls around you... truly, the experience!"

"The noise was deafening. Hard surfaces everywhere. I've been to Mexico a dozen times and have traveled the country from top to bottom. The food here had little or no resemblance to anything I've eaten in Mexico. If the intent of the Chef was to provide a new take on traditional recipes, he failed admirably. The food was bland, tasteless and boring. The ingredients blended together to form an inedible mess. I do, however, what to say that the Tequila/Mezcal selection was superb. While I won't be eating there again, I would recommend going there to sit at the bar and drink!!!"

"The bartenders are genuinely nice, but I recommend saving your money and heading over to the Golden Gopher instead. If they were to lower their prices, I think they would attract more customers from the nearby hotels to enjoy a drink in their cozy lobby area. I've been to plenty of upscale restaurants and clubs that offer cheaper drinks. $18 for a drink plus an enforced tip? No thanks."

"This place has a good atmosphere for some. The selection of tacos is great, but a bit overwhelming.For our little family, this wasn’t ideal, but I could see where others would thoroughly enjoy it.Everything was plated well and portions were large. It’s a busy place with a lot happening, but the chairs were comfortable enough the my 9 yo daughter took a good nap! Lol.Overall, I give 3 stars because it wasn’t ideal for my family. The tacos were decent, and might have been better off selecting one style instead of the tasting platter.The queso was great and came with chips and salsa (does not come with all meals). The salsa was great also but a bit spicy for the kids.Kid-friendliness: Not a place I would bring my kids back to. Not that it isn’t kid friendly, just not the atmosphere for them personally. Mainly just the business and noise which comes with a pub style restaurant. They did enjoy it though."
