"A good taco place well suited to the neighborhood. Unlike most mexican eateries in the area which are strictly casual/take-away, this sit down establishment nestles itself among other 53rd street eateries with it's railroad style two level dining room and small outdoor space. Service was quick and largely friendly with the food being a solid 7-8/10. Interesting menu combinations stray from classic Mexican cuisine with a nice selection of imbibements. My only note would be the darkness of the space, which while moody for dinner, walks a fine line of almost too dark."

"Yum! Super atmosphere (nice night so we sat outside), friendly, attentive staff and so many tasty choices it took us 15 minutes to select the sweet potato tacos and spinach salad with tempeh and chili-roasted pumpkin seeds. We're from Huntsville and don't get here often, but we're hoping to come back and work our way through the rest of the menu. Great meal, great value!"

"our first time in layla and it was highly recommended by a friend. we had a reservation on the terrace, but unfortunately the tables for our 4 top were more of a lounge vibe. the hostess has quickly taken us in, but carry the open terrace so that we felt to be out. the service was great, and we started with the mushrooms and the ricotta with honey on toast. the whole grilled brunino was the best I had on south beach! my man lamm and orzo melted in his mouth. we could have really shared both of them! our friends had the fish and the bahrain roasted cauliflower and they also loved their ride. too much to dessert. but a great experience and we will come back."
