"Absolutely do not recommend. This was the worst hibachi place I have ever tried. The soup (that every hibachi place has) was awful. It had a noodle or two in it which was fine except, the soup tasted as if they scooped the water they used to boil the noodles into a bowl to serve us. It tasted like boiled noodle water. The rest of our hibachi table (all strangers to us) agreed it tasted so awful. The ginger salad (that every hibachi place has) was on that level as well. It had a weird smell and dressing to lettuce ratio was as if they couldn't afford to put more than a tablespoon in it. The dressing itself was just horrid. I watched them cook our food. We both ordered steak and shrimp fried rice. I don't like the vegetables so I always order double fried rice and no veggies. Well, we had to ask permission to do that. Which doesn't surprise me considering their menu literally says there's an up charge if you share plates. WHAT. Okay. Apparently, this place can dictate what you do. I feel sorry for those who have small children and going here. The steak and shrimp was awful. Steak tasted horrible. He poured some type of power over it while it was cooking. Not sure what it was but it was gross. The meat was so tough and chewy. The shrimp was old. The rice was weird as well. It just had some weird smells with it. To make matters worse, the place is quite pricey. It was double the price of any place back home to no quality. The service was rough. The chef ignored you the entire time. The server was no where to be found. Absolutely not. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

"We showed up at 6pm on Saturday. There were 3 hibachi stations in use and 1 available but the lights were off. We were second in line. We weren 't seated for another 75 minutes, and they never turned the last station on. It took 45 minutes for them to take our order, bring drinks, and get our hibachi worker to the table. I would call him a chef except for the following: he dropped his utensils 3 times during the intro routine and it clearly wasn 't part of the routine, he dropped 3 of the 4 eggs and got shells all over the food not all of which were picked out, and the eggs, chicken, and shrimp were so overcooked that jerky would have been juicier. Two of us ordered the yakisoba noodles only to be served spaghetti noodles. For dessert, the waitress took super hot metal bowls right out of the dishwasher and put ice cream in them then spent 10 minutes walking around the restaurant letting it all melt while asking all the other workers if they knew where the spoons were. We were then served completely melted ice cream without anything do much as an apology. Finally, when they messed up our ticket, it took 3 workers 15 minutes to realize none of them knew how to work the computer and couldn 't get it right without deleting the whole order and starting over. We arrived at 6pm and left at 9:15 having spent nearly $100 for two people to eat overcooked food full of egg shells and melted ice cream. Do not patron this place! Lafayette has tons of other restaurants and this place does not deserve your money!"

"Don't judge this place by its looks. The strip mall setting is unappealing, the lighting is inconsistent, the music was set to Taylor Swift and Kesha, and the walls had Italian-style wine pictures hanging in thin frames. The menu is low-priced, and offers hibachi with no hibachi tables in view. All in all, Sushi Village gives a terrible first impression. But any sushi place with an Engrish menu and all-Asian staff has promise, so we gave it a chance.<br/ <br/ We started with Gyoza dumplings. Interestingly, they are filled with shrimp instead of pork, and their shumai have crab instead of shrimp. The Gyoza had a good flavorful filling, and the shell was pan-fried and had a nice crisp crust to it.<br/ <br/ We also had a snow crab naruto (ordered off-menu). It was not served with a sauce typical of the dish, but it didn't need it because the snow crab was quite flavorful.<br/ <br/ But the highlights of the dinner were the April roll (roll of the month, but they spelled it Apirl; basically a RockNRoll topped with steak) and the Fire Dragon roll (tempura shrimp and avacado inside, salmon and crabstick on top). The eel sauce has a little spicy kick to it, which set off the flavor of the rolls perfectly. In addition, the Fire Dragon roll was artistically presented, as you can see in the picture attached.<br/ <br/ The one disappointment was the fried ice cream dessert. It was all batter and no ice cream. But at $3.50, I didn't feel much buyer's remorse.<br/ <br/ EDIT: Oh, and the service was great. Attentive and friendly.<br/ <br/ Sushi Village may not compete with Itchiban or Tsunami in style, but it has it where it counts and at a great price. Go here!"

"You have beautiful staff, great location and easy access to the restaurant. Sushi was good but could be better.Coming from an 18 years in hospitality I would point out these opportunities that you might help you increase sales, and bring in more guests.1. Invest in you staff, they might be good in service but lack the hospitality way of doing things. Your Sushi restaurant opens around 5pm most days, and with that being said, hospitality is really important by focusing on quality not quantity. It is not how many tables that you can seat per hour. Trust me on that.2. Train your staff to welcome, their guests, by asking questions: Have you visited us before? Is this your first time here? Let me guide you through the menu? Are you allergic to shell fish? Etc...3. Edemame was too Salty, and had to flick off the salt from each piece. It could be a health hazard for people with high blood pressure. If I knew that much salt would be in the dish, I would have asked no salt. This is up to the wait staff to know more about food items and what to ask guests.4. Sushi plate; presentation is weak, no Wasabi nor Ginger was on the plate. I am fully aware of the food cost, but the eye eats before the mouth. I didn 't feel the passion and love put into the plate. I had to ask for ginger.5. Ambience: lighting is not in your best favor, the restaurant is open dining and was so loud. Music barely can be heard.Bar area lighting was not designed to pop out the background.6. Good job on bringing in the Pessimist Wine, my favorite blend.7. Always ask your guests for desserts. It will increase your ticket.I like to help local businesses grow and please take advantage of my critique and try to improve as much as possible. The place has huge potential for growth.Good luck ?"
