"I went in with modest expectations, mainly anticipating a wait for a table due to the packed parking lot. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the restaurant is, and we were seated right away. Our server promptly greeted us, compensating for the rather lackluster welcome we received from the host. She was friendly, addressed our questions, offered great suggestions, and checked on us a few times during our meal—truly providing five-star service.
Our server mentioned that they had recently updated their menu, which may explain the discrepancies with their online offerings. I ordered the Gateway omelette, which now includes spinach, mushrooms, onions, house-made hash, and cheese, creating a delicious blend of flavors. The corned beef hash was tender and packed with taste. I added onions to my home fries and opted for a side of rye toast—everything was enjoyable. My husband ordered poached eggs and praised the hollandaise sauce as excellent.
The only downsides were that my omelette was slightly overcooked and crisp on the outside, the poached eggs were a bit too firm, and the well-done home fries were tougher than expected. Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The value is fantastic, as there’s plenty of food for the price, coupled with excellent service from our server. We will certainly be returning for more!"
