"I've been looking for a new breakfast place since Jac's closed and I was very happy with my experience here! I ordered Irish eggs benedict with home fries and corn bread as takeout. One other review commented on their poached eggs being over hard but I'm not a fan of runny eggs so finding mine were over medium was perfect for me. The portions were generous and the ratio of the benny ingredients was good with delicious homemade hash. My only constructive criticism was the English muffin could've been less toasted to make it easier to cut but it was delicious to eat! Home fries had a lot more flavor than I expect from breakfast diners so I was very happy with them. Then the cornbread! Omgosh. I am so fussy about cornbread and had yet to find somewhere in New England that makes a good one but dang, this cornbread was incredible. I would literally go back for just cornbread lol. I probably will soon. The takeout service was super quick and friendly. I got the impression they really care about their customers and want us to have a good experience. I asked to purchase a cookie and she said they are trialing them as a new offering and gave me two for free, how sweet! I consider myself a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur and try them every where I go. These are a crispy style cookie, which is not my personal preference, but the recipe is perfect. Very good flavor cookie, I would love to see them bake them on a lower temp and/or shorter time for a softer cookie but as a new product trial, they are definitely on the right track! I will be back!"

"Once we were seated, our server took our drink and food orders, but then she disappeared. We waited 40 minutes for our food without seeing her. The only time we spotted her was when she delivered food to another table. Not once did she check in on us or emerge from the kitchen. A manager did come by to refill a drink that had been empty for a while, but keep in mind the restaurant had only six tables occupied and about eight servers milling around. Our orders were straightforward – a party of three, including a kids' meal – yet it took forever, especially given how quiet it was. After 40 minutes of waiting for our server, she finally brought our food. I asked her for a drink refill at that time, but she went missing again and never returned with it. I ended up finishing my entire meal without a drink. The manager passed by once more and asked if we needed anything, so we requested drinks again. He directed her to bring the refills to our table. Throughout our visit, we noticed another server was busy closing the dining room, leaving us to wonder if our server was tied up with closing duties in the back. We arrived at 7:40 PM, and the restaurant closes at 10 PM, so we believe it should have been a priority to remain attentive to guests. We didn’t arrive just before closing, nor was it peak hours. The service we received was not reflective of the number of servers present or the small number of tables, and it's a shame because we truly enjoy the food. However, something needs to change, as the overall experience has never been enjoyable here."

"I made a reservation for outside seating for a celebration of my daughter’s upcoming wedding. When we checked in with the hostess she rudely informed us they do not accept reservations for outside seating and on top of that we probably wouldn’t get served because they had people call in sick. We asked to speak to the manager. While we waited the hostess took 3 phone orders. Curious if they don’t have the ability to accommodate the people actually in their restaurant why would they be accepting phone orders? The manager was equally rude and told us there was nothing he could do “corporate controls the online options for reservations.” He told us we could sit inside but probably wouldn’t get served anytime soon. If they don’t take reservations for outside seating why wouldn’t they call and let people know that when the reservation is made? I made it a week before the date. They require you to give a phone number so why not be proactive and let people know about the error. I completely understand that employees call in and that is out of their control. Again, why not be proactive and let people with reservations know of the issue so they can choose to make other arrangements instead of waiting for them to show up and then rudely informing them they won’t be served. So disappointed that in these times of businesses closing almost daily that this is how they treat their patrons. We will choose to support the restaurants who deliver quality customer service. We will not return to the Ainsworth."
