"After ordering two rolls at this restaurant for the first time, I was immediately put off by the dirty appearance of the place. The seafood displayed behind the glass did not look fresh. As I waited for my order, I read reviews online and discovered that several customers had claimed to have gotten food poisoning from eating here. I received my two small and unappetizing rolls for $18, but I chose not to eat them as I did not want to risk getting sick. The overall experience was disappointing, and I will not be coming back. "Who are you, and what have you done to the old Wasabi Bistro?!? Seriously though, what happened? New ownership? New Chief? Trying to cut costs? What happened!?! This used to be the place to go but recently the food has been such low quality. I immediately noticed the difference when the food came out. It looked different. The steak, the rice, the sauce, everything looked different from what it used to be. The taste was not great at all. Was incredibly disappointed in the food and it definitely was not worth the price. Please go back to the old recipes! This place used to be a hidden gem!!!"

"We usually order take out from Japanica and have never had a bad meal. My husband loves the sushi and I stick with the teriyaki, which is absolutely delicious. I really have to highlight the customer service, however. We ordered edamame with our take out tonight but unfortunately staff forgot to put it in our bag. The restaurant called me not 5 minutes after I left to let me know about their mistake and offered me credit on a future order. I was so pleasantly surprised that they called me to make it right. Everyone is so polite and I love the service here!"

"The food and drinks were impeccable. Husband and I walked in and were immediately seated and drink orders taken. Mai tais are a tasty little beverage and I personally, don't even like rum. Crab rangoon runs small, but pack a punch and hit the spot. All the dishes were clean, beautifully designed and really create the atmosphere for how they plate their food. The tempura plate was excellent, but I would recommend diving into their sushis. Red bull roll was immensely praised by my husband and the Alaskan roll was a real treat. We drank and ate modestly, with extra to bring home for $100 and that included sake, which was my favorite of the night. Wait staff had my respect. I don't feel like we were rushed, likeany reviews specify. I feel we were treated with respect and the entire restaurant was clean. I will be returning, this place is a true treasure in this part of town."

"I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant. The food was subpar; the fried rice lacked flavor, the cashew chicken was mediocre, and the General Tso's chicken was overcooked and dry. The calamari appetizer and egg rolls were nearly burnt, with the egg rolls filled mostly with tough shredded cabbage. We used to be regulars here just for the amazing egg rolls but had to ask for the calamari to be removed from our bill as it was burnt and chewy like rubber. Unfortunately, we will no longer be returning to this place."

"Really surprised by all these reviews, because the experience was not good here. Restaurant is pretty cramped, and the food does not taste good nor is it properly portioned. It’s also very expensive for the quality you end up receiving. The shrimp tempura “special” roll was overpriced considering it barely contained shrimp, the beef udon soup had very few pieces of beef, and the spicy tuna roll tasted very slimy and not like fresh tuna at all. Very disappointed."

"Terrible service will not be coming back. The server could have done better when she took our order I asked if chicken can be added to a salad and she said no wouldn’t explain why either when I asked so I just went along with how the salad came . Aftershe dropped the food off at the table she never came back to check up on us or to get us refills we needed silverware andnapkins and we had to take the ones from the tables around us because she never came to check up on us and I as a server knowhow to give the best service I only tipped because I would have felt bad for not tipping but other than that a table next to uswas a guy sitting alone and he was also complaining about her service and I do not blame him I’m not sure maybe her first timeserving but could have done better for sure. It wasn’t busy either it only takes a second to check on the table but she onlycame back to drop off the check and that was it ."

"My experience at HONADA was pretty good. Service was decent, food was great, their were customers that detracted from my experience. When you arrive they have a large japanese menu, staff is friendly and present but mostly waiting which could be good or bad depending on your need. "With so many sushi restaurants in the area and competition for customers I am trying to understand why a courteous patron wouldn’t be treated with respect and hospitality. As I sat eating my meal I watched the table beside me receive attention from the wait staff. Several times the waitstaff visited the table next to me and every time they walked right past my table without ever asking how my meal was, if I needed anything etc.. I was completely ignored and I began to feel that because I wasn’t Asian like the individuals sitting next to me or the table across the way said table across the way received attention from the wait staff) I didn’t matter. At the conclusion of my meal the waitstaff silently placed the bill on my table and not one of the wait staff made eye contact or said thank you. It truly was uncomfortable and awkward. Giving three star rating for the food because the food is deserving of such a rating. Giving three starts for the atmosphere because it deserves as such. Giving one star for service because of the lack of engagement and lack of hospitality."

"I’ve been coming to this place for years and once turned Sanma, it has become my #1 GO-TO on the island. The woman on the phone is so welcoming and kind, the people that work there are great, and the energy of the environment is welcoming as well. The food is ALWAYS fresh which is difficult to come by time and time again, so they’re consistent and of quality, for sure. The sushi was incredible—I ordered two rolls, but I was so eager to dig into the first one that I forgot to snap a photo. I highly recommend the Dynamite roll; it's one of the best rolls I've ever tasted. My partner opted for the steak filet, which came with rice, vegetables, and three shrimp. I customized my second roll, and it only cost about $6 extra to get exactly what I wanted. Overall, I spent around $80 here, and it was definitely worth it. The service was superb, the atmosphere was lovely, and both our server and the sushi chef were incredibly kind. I would love to return to this place if I find myself back in town. However, we decided to give it a shot because of its good ratings and the desire for sushi beyond what Meijer offers. Now, we indulge in the Monday sushi special every week — it’s both tasty and of high quality. We typically order 3 to 5 rolls between us, trying to keep our total under $40 to $50, since the portion size varies by roll. Having enjoyed sushi in Japan during my last job, I can confidently say the taste here is quite comparable.
