"Haven't been in years, apparently they have new owners. The good:the food is very flavorful compared to a lot of then hole in the wall Chinese restaurants I usually order from. The not so good:Service at the start was pretty slow. Waitress was very friendly, but it was kind of unorganized from the moment we walked in the door. It got a little faster as it went on, all in all we spent about an hour and 15 here. The prices seem a little high for the portions. Ordered the sizzling seafood platter which was $20 and it came with mostly cheap imitation crab meat. 3 shrimp and 3 small scallops, was expecting a bit more for the price. Very flavorful, even though the platter was by no means sizzling when it came out. Also got the orange chicken, again, very flavorful, but lukewarm at best. I think that was $15 bucks and the portion just seemed small for that price. The biggest issue came with the fact that nothing else came with these House specials I'd expect basic white rice with the option to upgrade it to fried rice or something, but no. I think an order of white rice was like $2.00, but immediately jumped to around $8.00 for plain fried rice. All in all, I wouldn't say it's bad. I'm not sure when the new owners took over, but if it was recently, I'd imagine the experience would improve as they get used to everything. I won't go back for the foreseeable future, but I may give it another shot in a couple of months to see if they have improved."

"We love this restaurant and often it once a week during the summer when we walk. Less often with winter weather. The staff is friendly, the food is relatively fast and consistently good, and we love the lunch specialities. My fiancé taught English in Japan for 5 years and from all the restaurants that we have tried, these dishes and those in Mitsuwa remember him most of his time there. He usually gets the Katsudon, which is a nice roasted pig over rice with egg and onion, and it is salty and absolutely delicious. He'll also make Katsu Curry shake everything up. I started my sushi kushi trip with the chicken Katsudon, which seems a little less salty than the pork version, but still with the delicious egg and onion over rice. Then I finally tried the divine ginger steak-lunch that I want by default when I want the full feeling of red meat or my ginger-fix. If I want some light, I get the veggie-friendship or some light with some chewed guilt, the Tempoura lunch, both delicious. I always get a spicy salmon roll, and that may be my favorite place. I would also like to note that this is one of the few restaurants that we splash and also get starters. We'll get the Tatsuta ages that are like fried chicken nuggets, just here, they don't give you frozen Tyson like other restaurants we went to. These are legit, and perfectly included with a simple drizzle from the slice of lemon. We also love the veggie tempura. I am always surprised by the quality and variety of vegetables included. With what I think are different swamps, onions, sweet potatoes, broccoli, green beans, mushrooms, there is something for everyone, and it always seems like a greater variety than other restaurants. I also love Oldashi Tofu, but I'm a sucker for a nice fried tofu. I would give this restaurant 100 stars if I could."

"They are absolutely fantastic. I’ve never had tempura this good and perfectly cooked. I always order a tempura bento box for lunch. First time it was chicken and the second time it was shrimp. The best part is actually the tempura vegetables that come with it. The onion was like a Japanese onion ring and when you dip with the tempura sauce that comes with your order it is seriously delicious. My other favorite is the tempura sweet potato. I thought it was carrot and I was very pleasantly surprised when it was sweet potato. I love tempura sweet potato rolls so to eat it as just a tempura battered sweet potato slice was amazing. The sweet potato was cooked to perfection where it wasn’t undercooked hard but very soft. I also chose the tuna roll to go with it and I can tell the tuna is pretty fresh since it’s not bright red. Super bright red tuna usually means it’s pumped with a lot of carbon monoxide. That’s how fish is sold so it doesn’t look a little brown like it naturally should. Tuna doesn’t stay fresh very long and should be cooked and eaten as soon as you buy it. It is also kid-friendly! I went with my baby thinking I’ll just go in, pay for stuff, and head to the next errand but he was so fussy. So I asked them if I could use a booth to feed him and they said yes. I started eating my lunch while I fed the baby with the other hand and I struggled to put everything back so I could leave since I only had one hand. The lady came up to me and asked if she could help and I said yes please. So she placed everything back in the bag and re-stapled it and I was so grateful for them going the extra mile. I unfortunately didn’t have cash to leave a nice tip so I hope this raving review will make up for it!"
