"Without any doubt our best dining experience this year. Wow. We're from out of town, hadn't made reservations but they accommodated us at the bar which was beautiful! The food was an unbelievable work of art and flavor..... the kitchen obviously loves what they produce. The 3 bartenders were welcoming, creative (they will create a alcohol free cocktail just ask them, they'll think for a moment and a complicated creation appears! , super attentive without being overbearing, explain where components of your meal came from (farm, location and SO entertaining! We would be comfortable driving the two hours just to have another meal from here again in a heartbeat. #awesomeservice #restaurantjoy"

"Been coming here for many years, for parties, business and personal dinners, but this last visit was disappointing. Several food items arrived cold or overcooked. The waiter forgot to bring an item we ordered and it wasn't even acknowledged. For the prices paid, I don't believe the value warrants another visit. I will, however, note that the entire staff knew this was an anniversary celebration and that was a nice touch. Sorry to say I cannot recommend the Highlawn, at this time. It seems to have lost its luster as being one of the finest establishments in the area. Quality of food, service and overall value always outweigh location and ambience."

"I was so excited to come as I saw the chef on an episode of Plate it Pittsburgh and the menu sounded amazing. I may have worked myself up to the point where anything less than fantastic would be a disappointment... and that's what happened. We stayed long enough to have brunch and order regular menu items for takeout. Pro: amazing self-serve beer selection; nice atmosphere/vibe; our waitress was great as far as remembering our orders and knowing the menu items; a few of the menu items were good (All-In Fries, Home Fries, Bourbon French Toast). My sister said the chicken tacos were delicious. Cons: overall the food was just “ok”. I was not impressed by the hot chicken and waffles as it was a smallish portion, the chicken was mostly breading and the waffle had no flavor. The chicken seemed to be a small piece that was sliced and separated atop the thin waffle to make it look more substantial. Not bad, but also not great. My friend's waffles were so burnt, they were inedible. Then she subbed it out with fries, and there was a hair in them. She just had a bad day. Everyone else's food was deemed “ok”. No one was impressed and no one wants to return for the food. Perhaps beer ...and maybe fries? But overall, I was disappointed."

"Restaurant Only. We made a reservation for 4 for dinner here for my grandmother's 89th birthday and the service was ridiculous! We were there 45 minutes before our drinks came and we waited just over 2 HOURS for our food to come! We were not offered or given anything in that time; no bread or chips or anything. just left alone for 2 HOURS with an overpriced drink that was mediocre at best. Then, after waiting 2 HOURS for our food, we are left sitting there without any silverware to eat our food with for about 8 minutes! Finally after a bit over 2 HOURS we got to eat. My mother's food was both cold and overcooked, me and my grandmother's veggies were undercooked, and the portions left us leaving hungry. The food overall was decent, we aren't hard to please when it comes to food, but it sure wasn't worth waiting 2 HOURS, $175, and still leaving hungry!"

"Expected much better based on the reviews. Dined alone- the Paloma was well made. The oysters were really poorly shucked, with numerous bits of shells- really not cool when you?re charging $21 for a half dozen, shows a lack of professionalism. The burgerwas fine, but kind of haphazard, not great. Seems like a problem of having too big of a menu- if this place focused on gettingless things more right, it would be better. But business is good so i predict they?ll get worse. Service was good, outsideambiance is good, but my experience here would discourage me from returning."

"Motus never fails to disappoint. This was a celebration of the south. Each dish was just amazing. From the collard greens with ham hock, grilled peach and Potlikker gravy to the fried chicken, corn and jalapeño fritter, each bite was intentional and perfect. My favorite bite of the night was the sweet corn chow chow served with the beef belly taco. On its own, delicious. A bite of the chow chow with a little of each component of the dish was a masterclass in food pairing. 12/10. Would recommend."

"First time at Communal Restaurant and plan on going back again. When we arrived they told us the wait would be 50-55 mins, we decided to wait it out and there was no regret or disappointment. The service was amazing, bar none. The food was some of the best food I have had in Years! I seriously wanted to lick the plate, but I sopped up every morsel I could, leaving nothing to waste. The chef had a moment to talk, as I shared my incredible experience he was so humble and gracious. I would rate this establishment a 10 , the atmosphere was enjoyable, the staff was all incredible and the food exceeded expectations by leaps and bounds."

"Second time visitor, last visit in May 2011. This place had been held in very high regard in my mind after an extraordinary experience all those years ago. My wife and I came here for a birthday dinner. The ambiance was just as I remembered. We were sat quickly as we made a reservation. We were promptly greeted by our server who took drink orders and let us know about the specials for the evening. Another table was sat shortly after us (7 10 min? , attended by a different staff member. Drinks arrived at their table and only after asking after our drinks did they arrive, unfortunately a bit watered down in a glass covered with condensation suggesting that these were unfortunately probably forgotten at the bar. We both ordered steaks, the missus, the filet and I, the dry aged ribeye. Mine was cooked perfectly. Wife ordered med rare and received med well and while the server did ask if she wanted a refire on the steak (to which my wife kindly declined , it would have made more sense to insist upon this as an overdone steak makes the difference between an excellent and an above/ok experience. Sides were great bacon jam brussels and the mushrooms. Overall, the experience was good but not great. Given the mismatch of expectations and the cost/travel time, I don't foresee a repeat visit any time soon."

"We dined here during our visit to Vermont over the holidays. Great service! The popover was a nice touch; we could have eaten more than one. Pauline 's touted having been named Best Filet Mignon in South Burlington and it probably was, but with a send-up like that, especially after taking care to caution our server no more than medium , it was a let down get it on the far side of medium, bordering on well done. It was not -too- dry, but there was no evidence of it being pepper-encrusted . Maybe their chef was out that evening, or just having a bad day? Still, while this might truly be the Best Filet Mignon in South Burlington , it wasn 't the best I have ever enjoyed, and not worth their $42.00 asking price, IMHO. Great atmosphere and service, but Pauline 's probably wouldn 't be our first choice again."

"Lol lowkey vibe with this place cause I ate across the room from Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz. Even without their presence food still slaps. "I discovered Hu Kitchen while following the Whole30 diet, when a friend raved about this incredible spot that serves only paleo-friendly foods. Even after completing my diet, I still frequent this place regularly. The food is tasty, satisfying, and nutritious. While prices can be a bit steep, I usually opt out of buying a drink to keep costs down - the cashier will give you a cup for water at checkout. By doing this, you can enjoy a lovely meal in the $10-$15 range. I enjoy sitting in the upstairs dining area, which has a cozy ambiance that lets you relax and enjoy your meal away from the city's hustle and bustle. Hu Kitchen is truly a hidden gem in the city."

"I visited this restaurant after a long hike in the White Mountains. We began our meal with the crab cake appetizer, which was delicious and beautifully paired with asparagus. For my main course, I ordered the duck accompanied by scallops and pork belly. The dish featured a generous portion of scallops, which were well-seasoned and served with a unique sauce and crispy potatoes. However, the pork belly was cut into a single cube, and I found it a bit drier than what I’m used to. I would have preferred at least one more piece. The staff were friendly, and overall, it was a decent experience."
