"Wish we would have left. We seriously considered it. Had a reservation (obvi) so they knew to expect us. However, seemed like we surprised them. They were completely unprepared to seat 6 people. Only two wait staff for entire facility (20 tables inside). More seating outside. Most of the tables had dishes waiting for removal when we arrived. We waited 15 minutes for a table to be cleared so we could be seated. After 10 minutes without menus our server we helped ourselves to drinks. (Perhaps serving yourself drinks initially is common practice there but if so it was not conveyed to us). I had to track down the waiter to ask how we ordered wine. He said from the wine menu and turned his back to me to get something from the food pass. I found one myself on another table. Waiter forgot to put in two of our orders. Said it didn’t print on the ticket . Perhaps it wasn’t placed in the computer?? After another 20 minutes one of us had to go to the kitchen window and ask when the meals would come. Food was mediocre at best. That is generous. Server never asked if we needed anything. Skip it!!"

"If I could describe the perfect pizza crust and then bring someone to it, it would be like the crust at Capital Pizza. Soft, chewing (good) and warm on the inside, slightly on the outside. The pizza isn't mad at all, even if they don't stick to the punch again. There are many options for traditional and special pizzas, and a really extensive beer list. Typically I love a BBQ chicken pizza, so I had to try the Smokehouse pizza that is similar, but instead of chicken pig pulled. It was SO GOOD. Meat lover was also lovely and lived up to his name. The place is inconvenient, there are parking spaces available, and the service is very good. Update: It was so good that we went back after a few weeks. This time I had the special (Capital Cordon Bleu) and the taste was all I hoped and more. The yellow topping is dijon drizzle. This place is consistently delicious. It will be difficult to try another pizza place in Lubbock in the future!"

"We were so excited to try Capital Pizza, but had an unacceptable experience. We waited an hour for the most unappealing calzone I've ever had. During that time we didn't receive a single refill or explanation for the wait. Our waiter was nice, just not very attentive. We still tipped 20% because we've worked in food service before and understand it wasn't his fault. The ranch dressing was good ????? This is the first negative review I've ever left and I wouldn't have left it if the restaurants response hadn't been so arrogant to previous reviews. We literally had 3 frozen pizzas in the freezer I bought on sale 3/$10 that would've been a more satisfying meal."
