"When I moved to Wisconsin from Austin, TX, my two main concerns were 1) finding a good hairdresser and 2) finding a good sushi restaurant. So far, I've tried sushi at three different places in Milwaukee area, and one of them is Midori. We've been going there for the past 3 years, and every single time it has been a wonderful experience. We've also taken friends and family to this restaurant on several occasions, and it has been a hit with everyone! Here are some of the dishes that I absolutely love at Midori: Soft Shell Crab roll $13): It's crunchy and has enough spice to it. I love that it's warm, so it creates a nice contrast to the raw fish sushi. 5 out of 5! Seaweed salad $5): Fresh and delicious! My only complaint is the price: $5.00 for what seems to be 2 tablespoonfuls is a little pricey in my opinion. Thus, it's 4 out of 5. Miso soup $2.50): It's miso soup. It's good, if you like miso soup. So, it's 4 out of 5. Special rolls price varies): They are fantastic! I've had most of them, and they are all wonderful. However, if I am not in the mood to try something new, I always go back to Beverly Hills roll $17). It combines cooked and raw sea food, so it gives me a well-balanced variety of different tastes and textures in one roll. If you love salmon, then I would recommend trying their M16 roll. It's wonderful. This category takes all 5 out of possible 5! As far as other dishes go, I have only tried their Chicken Yakisoba noodle dish $15). It was tasty and had good flavors. However, I am a sushi lover and I hardly ever order anything else in restaurants that serve very good sushi. The restaurant is small, but we never had to wait for a table. The service is good. While it may be a little slow for some, I personally don't mind waiting because it's worth it! We got to know the Chef. Apparently, he has been in business for a long time now, and the sushi that he serves is a good reflection of his knowledge, experience, and skills."

"I want to start by saying that I am someone who eats high quality sushi on a regular basis, at a level of $200-300 per person. So, I just want to make it clear that my perspective may differ from those who love this restaurant. I ordered the 21-piece sashimi, crunch roll, tamago, hotate, negihama, ika shiso maki, and hakkaisan JG. The fish cuts were extremely large, to the point where it was difficult to fit the sashimi in my mouth comfortably. While some may prefer quantity over quality, I believe that sashimi should be enjoyed bite by bite. The nigiri pieces were also quite large, requiring two bites instead of the traditional one. The rice was overcooked and slightly softer than it should be, with a slightly higher level of vinegar. My son enjoyed his crunch roll. The 21-piece sashimi is shareable among 3 people, with each piece being 2-3 bites in size. The wasabi lacked flavor, the ginger was subpar, and the soy sauce was standard low sodium. In terms of quality, it was comparable to a buffet, with the tuna lacking brightness in color and the escolar tasting fishy. The yellowtail was good, but the negihama lacked flavor and had a low fish to rice ratio. Overall, the experience felt like a restaurant version of genki/kura. The service was friendly and prompt. Although I usually avoid writing negative reviews, I do think this restaurant is a good choice for those looking for high protein and large portions of fish, especially in the sashimi pieces, at a reasonable price. The $55 price tag is definitely worth it. I wish the server had informed me of the size of the portions, as I would have opted for a smaller sashimi plate. Despite mentioning that it was my first time dining there, I received no heads up."
