"The food was good, but not outstanding. It felt similar to what you’d find at places like The Friendly Toast, and it didn't exceed my expectations. I could have rated it a five if the food had been exceptional, but it was just good, not great. The staff was adequate, but nothing remarkable, which contributed to our overall impression.
On the bright side, the cups for the hot chocolate were amazing, and we even purchased two from the shop. However, for my daughter's birthday lunch, there was nothing done to make her feel special. I had made a reservation and informed the hostess about the occasion, so a simple gesture like a birthday hot chocolate or a cupcake with a candle would have been appreciated. Perhaps this is a tactic to encourage dessert sales. Considering all this, we probably won't travel into town for lunch here again, and I doubt we'd return even if we were nearby."
