"Just got into town with the family, kids wanted filets so after researching steak houses we went with The Chop House. Didn 't think much about dress code since we 've been traveling and it was 8pm (after dinner) we weren 't under dressed per say but we were definitely not business or fancy attire. Our girls were disappointed we didn 't let them wear the fancy dresses they packed (hey it 's 30 degrees). We were seated right away. Server greeted the table def talked at us like we 've never been out to eat before (trust me we look pretty decent and have all our teeth). I found it pretty condescending considering he was a sight for sore eyes himself. All late age men working in the restaurant. He did not list specials, offer a wine list nor cocktail menu, I actually had to ask about tonight 's special, if any. We made the 4th table in the room and very last to be seated in the room. Our server had our table and another 4 top that seemed to be wrapping up end of dinner. After about 15 20min we put our drink orders in. 25 30 mins later, still waiting for our 2 liquor drinks and a Shirley temple to arrive in a more than halfway empty restaurant. We almost left ... after watching our server talk to other table for 15min about end of dinner drinks while we sat famished. Once we received our drinks we were given the go to order. Our kids were set on filets we had decided they would share an 8oz filet and bake potato since that was the smallest portion and prob more than what 10yr old girls can eat in one setting but wait what 's that oh you offer kid entrees..... 6oz filets w/broccoli or fries $20. But they want bake potato well that cannot replace the fries but you can purchase alacart. Ok great thank you! I went with 8oz filet and lobster tail special, my husband porterhouse/augratin. Drinks took forever and food took forever even though we were about the last table to place order. Girls were starving asked us if they had bread, so when our server came by to fill waters for the 3rd time, I said I know we didn 't order salads, but if you have bread could we possibly have some before our meal, the girls would appreciate it low and behold our server forgot about the chop house in house gluten free tapioca flour parmesan bread rolls they are infamous for. They are delicious in an odd way. Very spongy inside. But you can 't put them down. Not really a fan but I could see how they are popular. Finally food arrived. Girls first. Each received 6oz filets w fries. They instantly dug in. Filets looked perfect medium rare per request. But filets were cold. Literally. Bake potato arrived later split in half for each girl. Bake potato was way over baked. Like hard dry and just prob something that shouldn 't have been. $10 for bake potato. Our server mentioned the other servers closed down the bake potato station so he was going to have to prepare the serving of butter and sour cream after he set potato halves on table. Yeah potato 's were cold butter did not melt so all wasted effort. I received my entree 8oz filet w/lobster tail. Filet perfect. Medium. But I found it dry and not very flavorful. I literally almost asked for steak sauce which I never do if that says anything but couldn 't bring myself to be shunned upon lol seriously. The judgements were real lol Lobster tail actually overcooked and crisp around the edges. Very dry as well. Ugh! Husband was happy with porter house and augratin potatoes, the girls actually preferred the augratin over baked potato and fries. I 'm guessing from experience both working and dining in fine dining, my meal along with our daughters, were cooked first and sat until porterhouse was done. Pretty disappointed. Def not worth the unmemorable experience. Really left with nothing to cherish or reason to return. Let me also reiterate, the 3 other tables around us were older business crowd customers. All discussing work, stocks, trades and so fourth. Not an exciting atmosphere. Maybe we just hit it on an off night. Arrived 8pm, left 10pm. Most our time was spent waiting. The 3rd table in our section ours being 4 was served right after we arrived, so it 's not like there were multiple orders. Idk. Weird. Ending this review like our dinner unimpressionable."
