"I imagine my experience at Fido's wasn't typical, with a series of unfortunate events partly outside the business's control. Regardless, I'm sharing it to help newcomers and potentially inspire some improvements at Fido's to make it a more welcoming and safe space. I ordered an iced cinnamon honey latte, which was delicious, and posted up with my laptop to get some work done. Some time later, a woman from outside the shop who seemed mentally unwell came up to me and started yelling. The staff confronted her and asked her to leave, which she did eventually but in loud opposition. I had the uneasy feeling she might come back so I moved to a part of the shop that was farther in…I wasn’t sure if she was mad at me or the business, and I didn’t want to stick around and find out. My hunch was right, she came back in and out five or six times while I was there. Didn’t love that, but seems hard to know what to do there. The thing I had a real problem with is the parking. Plainly put, it was confusing. When you pull into the lot, the signs read in large letters “Customer parking for Fido’s”. That made me feel I was good to go, and although I saw the parking meter I figured that was for non-Fido customers. Don’t worry, the ticket waiting for me when I got back let me know I misunderstood. Fortunately, the baristas were empathetic, explained the process, and I was able to resolve the ticket with the parking company. All in all, an iffy first time experience for this customer."
