"I moved here from Florida 2 years ago. Love Iowa, but the food has been sub par almost everywhere I have been. I was so happy when I was introduced to the Irish Democrat. The food was spectacular and the service was great. All of my friends and family that visit, I take them to the Democrat. Lately, the service has suffered. The staff who are there are as good as I can expect under the circumstances, but you will rarely see your server more than once or twice. They just have not been staffed. The food has slowly been going down as well. It started with less portions, but they would give you so much and for the cost it was still a great deal. But then the quality started going down. I love the chicken wings and rib platter, but the last three times I got it... it was worse and worse each time. It seems our whole party, the food is very hit or miss. The decorum is definitely dated, but that's part of the charm. But the food has just become a little sad lately. I hope it comes back to what it once was... I will definitely give them one more chance, but if it's not good, I will be sad to not return."
