"Exceptional food in an authentic, non-demanding environment. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, which added to the great experience. For bread lovers, there are 3 different breads, all of which are made there and are all wonderful. I stop on the way out of town to pick up bread and take it home to friends. My salad was fabulous and the vodka chicken pasta (a specialty) was cooked perfectly with a wonderful sauce. The specials change with the seasons. Desserts are all made there and everyone looked great. We share the ice cream on Sunday with homemade caramelized marshmallows and chocolate ganache. It was wonderful. You can share it with 4 people as it is very large. We will definitely have dinner here again when we return to Mayo and Golf."

"I made a reservation for 7:30. It was my son's birthday. We also stayed at the River Crab Hotel. We sat at 7:45 am. At 8:05 a.m. nobody had come to our table. Had to ask for water and 8:15 a boy brought us water and said he would send a waitress. 8:30 no waitress got up yet and asked the hostess to send a waitress please. 8:40 no one yet. Each waitress distributed the table like we weren't even there. I was so upset we got up and left the restaurant and went somewhere else. There were four of us and my son's birthday was totally ruined !!!!! I have never treated this badly in a restaurant in my life. I will be sure to tell my friends about the terrible service we received. NO apologies for this kind of service !!!!!!!!!"

"Our first visit to Massa definitely won't be our last. Everything, from the bread to the dessert, was outstanding. My wife and I started with the spaghettini as an appetizer and ended up ordering extra bread to savor the delicious white clam sauce. The bronzino served on a bed of spinach was fantastic and a generous portion. For dessert, I had the affogato, and it was arguably the best I've ever tasted. If you enjoy vodka, be sure to ask for the house-infused pineapple vodka—it’s incredible! The ambiance was cozy, featuring brick walls and white tablecloths."

"This was my first time dining in at Villa Barone. My cousin and I had the most degrading experience at the restaurant. Our server BERATED us when we requested to change our food due to a misunderstanding. Initially when we ordered, we requested recommendations for vegetarian pasta dishes in different sauces. The waiter recommended Primavera with veggies, we asked if it's white sauce, and our understanding was that it's pasta with white/creme sauce with veggies. He was slightly unclear and only gave us one option. We agreed and when food arrived it was a risotto in oil based sauce. Another waiter/manager happen to pass by when our food arrived and was willing to make the needed changes. However seconds later our waiter came to our table and started to berate us, claiming he made everything clear. He was very confrontational and we asked him if he was upset, and we asked to have pasta with creme sauce. He was very unhelpful in figuring out if anything can be vegetarian, we ended up sharing vodka sauce plate and left. We were not charged for risotto, however charged 20% gratuity automatically, for 2 ppl for very upsetting dinner experience. It was both our birthdays and we were shocked that management/waiter did not work towards making us another meal or check in on us. We left the restaurant wondering if we're treated poorly because we were two girls or because of our Asian background."

"The waitress did a good job but seemed like she was handling too many tables at the same time. The place was packed but not enough servers were around. We normally have great food and good service with very little wait time in this restaurant, but this time we waited a lot for the waitress come over and we didn't even have water after we were seated. Still recommend the place as the food is really good, I hope the service is back to normal soon."

"Walked in and checked in with hostess she was so sweet and wished us Happy Anniversary and sent us to the bar and the bartender another sweet gal had our fav drink order waiting for us as one of our friends called ahead and treated us to our cocktails . I must say they were quite tasty. We went to our table and ordered our meals and they were fabulous my fav was dessert banana bread pudding. Can’t wait to go back there again"

"Third time here. Excellent Pastas and superb service. We just moved to Pacific Grove so will continue dining here. Wife had special salad and I had the squid clam linguine. We brought our friends from Oregon and they relished their pasta dishes — Spinach and Mushroom Raviloli and the Halibut with pasta special. Mezza has an elite touch with the pasta. Tasty cocktail. We drank a Hugo. Nice selection of wines. Only demerit is the dessert selection mostly gelato great variety of flavors on paper but actual flavor punch is weak."

"We went to dinner while in town for our daughters graduation from veterinary school. The food was amazing we all had to take doggy bags home. "My wife and I decided to dine at this place after reading all the great reviews. The restaurant is small but unique. We loved the atmosphere and the service was very good. The owner worked right along with the two young servers. Complimentary bruschetta and two small crepes filled with ricotta cheese. Very good. I ordered the special, Sea Bass. I asked for it over angel hair pasta instead of vegetables. They did not have angel hair pasta but they did have regular pasta. My wife had the lobster ravioli. For some odd reason one was not filled with anything. Had the Limoncello cake for dessert. Very good. Don?t know if we will go back. For some reason we were not ?Wowed ? by the food. Maybe all those five star reviews set the bar too high."

"This is a return visit here. Food is excellent -and so many choices. We got a great round table and 5 friends came. We all ordered from the lunch PRE fixe, unbelievable value.
