"The service and atmosphere were very nice, and while the food was very tasty, I have a major gripe. I ordered steak au poivre for my main, a French staple, but I did not receive steak au poivre. This is my favorite steak to order at restaurants and make at home. It's supposed to have a brandy peppercorn cream sauce. What I received seemed to be a demi glace or perhaps a bordelaise. Either way, it had neither brandy, peppercorn or cream in it. It was a dark brown semi-transleuscent sauce with what may have been small chunks of carrots? And while tasty and fine, it wasn't what I wanted, ordered or expected. I didn't say anything to the server because if they got an au poivre sauce so very wrong, I really didn't see a point in trying to fix it because they either thought what they served was fine, or whoever made it couldn't make the correct sauce."
