"Southtown Pizza is dynamite making GREAT traditional pizza specialty cake, the dough is always evenly cooked only excellent and as any pizza crust should be. These little peperoni nodes are amazing when we visit friends family from the city, we basically always order pizza knots from Southdown in the words of my NY transplant family members this is how pizza should taste, oh my God (what they 've down in Texas isn't cuttin 'it for them, lol). This is one of my favorite locations, and it is easy to take the #1 for out of town (I have more than 1 friend who specifically asks for the special pepperoni node space when they visit I love how something as small is as pleasant as that). They are also very cheap, especially for Huntington, Lol. I like to mix it, sometimes or try new flavor combinations, so I'm a big fan on the 12 mini pizza it's the perfect size for 2 people to share, and if you're trying a toppings combo you 're on the fence around, it's ideal! They are also super cool about special requests, and, they are the hands down, with the delivery of every restaurant in Huntington, pizza or other. Honestly, since Kovid, a lot of delivery orders from many other restaurants have been missing items for ever, or just the wrong orders, and we all know that suck when it happens. But Southdown is on the ball my husband I both work very long hours, and take regular, and I have never stressed double review of Southdown orders because they are organized and consistent at the top of being pizza master. I know the stuff we've ordered is what's in the bag before I open it, which is actually exactly what on these crazy long days, where you just want to go home and eat dinner and don't have to think about it. I saw another recent review of the crust not to be great, and not just I agree, I just think that for a small, independent company that knocks it out of the park 99,99% of the time, they deserve better, we should celebrate small businesses that are our city to the place that it is, and Southdown is one of them. Short (LOL): Great pizza, definitely try it some nodes, you will not be disappointed."

"I attended a Christening party at the Pearl Room this past weekend. Valet Parking is available, parking on a rainy Sunday afternoon was no issue. I will approach this with the Good, the needs improvement and the bad. The good: The food was solid, have I had better? Of course but given the crowd close to 100 guests, the kitchen was working hard. The mussels in white garlic sauce was good, heavy on the garlic and pieces of chorizo took the dish to the next level. Fried Calamari, solid. Mozzarella and Carrozza, ok. Penne with marinara, pasta was over cooked but passable. Entrees: choices of Salmon, Chicken Marsala or Stuffed Loin of Pork Beautiful dishes, well portioned. Each was accompanied by shredded vegetables and mashed potatoes. Desserts: half of the desserts were provided by the host. The restaurant provided tiramisu and what I thought was cheesecake. The tiramisu was great. The Seating was tough, I can 't fault the restaurant as I believe the hosts invited too many people. Tight space, no elbow room and you had to ask 8 people to get up so you could go visit. We sat in a beautiful atrium, unfortunately it was pouring out and a few of the windows leak....not great. One of the waiters spilled water on my wife and instead of apologizing, we got it 's only water Again.....not great. The appetizers were served family style and there was just not enough food for the guests. The expresso, cappuccino machine allegedly broke....not sure if it wasn 't included or what but again.....not great. The kicker......the hostess started handing out flyers for their Mother 's Day dinner during the party....not on the way out but while we were seated. Again.....not great. Tough to judge a restaurant in a party setting as you never know what the hosts wanted or paid for but I can tell you there are a few things I mentioned that would make me think twice about recommending the restaurant."

"I wanted to fall in here since they opened up. Then Covid and the whole hell went to a hand basket and the baby shimmered in the bath water until everything was ready to open again. Dark ish at 430, no other reservations for Resy for me until 645 and at 345 I was already sucked on my thumb waiting for more food. Because Grannie's always hungry... just said. The place is LIEBELY. A charmingly elegant, but not stuffed Lil-bistro, French ish to the core, Osterville in the veins and Cape Cod friendly to a t. The staff? MAGNIFICENT on earth want to embrace all the delights of people. Gale, our server? Yeah, a jewel. Drink? The bartenders are in the fire. Wine selection? OOOlala. Small, dirty and dragging. What have we done? Hubs went with a Neger Blanco who was on the money, should have won the megamillions, but after I blow my $20 to a billionaire show in Maine... Oh, wait, I'm digressive. And his Manhattan too. Me? I am grandma bubbles and I went with the cheap Spanish cava because I want Chef Jose Andres and his longer tables to like me. PERFECT! The carburized oysters are PLUMP, super tasteful with the right parmesan hit, marinated artichokes and CREAM with a whiff of liquid smoke. Really delicious. Dinner was a bit confusing, but just a bit. Our neighboring table had a Hulk size file mignon, perfectly cooked (yes, if you sit next to me, I would ogle... . I ordered the shrimp made at home with Pasta PERFECT other than the gigantic shrimps were overcooked on the line of. And so was the striped bass problem with my husband's plate. My bad, I always order fish undercooked so that it comes perfectly to the table with the carry about cooking. That said it was tasty except the kitchen went overboard with the fish and the risotto. But it was impossible. And even though they didn't make it right to offer anything else, we still enjoyed what we knew would otherwise be a perfect dish. Great in principle, a bit behind the execution. Bottom beautiful lines food with great people and an excellent place to sit at the bar and drink and eat and be happy! Can't wait to come back! Reservations are MANDATORY. The place is small and it PACKS!"

"Always looking for a new culinary adventure and we chose Cara Mia in Milburn, NJ. Before we go, I checked the menu and the reviews. The menu is usually typical Italian favorites with some inspired restaurant unique dishes. Your daily specialties were interesting. Since this was our first experience, we decided to go with Steak Carpaccio, her Cara Mia fatuccine with shrimps, crab meat, scalions in a vodka sauce and Veal Parmigiana with angel hair. The restaurant has an outdoor weather. In the interior there are two small rooms that offer about 20 seats in each room. Our waiter, bus boy and m as manager was very friendly, attentive, friendly and professional. We gave a small plate of bruschetta and zucchini chips as soon as we sat with homemade bread. The service was timely with sufficient time between the courses. The Bruschetta was fresh while the zucchini chips were somewhat oily, but the fresh cheese made it delicious. Either you like it or not. The appetizer was Steak Carpaccio, a thin-cut fillet mignon with sprinkled provolon, herbs and oil. It was very fresh and very thin, so it melts in the mouth. Our ducks arrived in time. The Kalbsparmigiana with angel hair was a great dish. It was enough for two. It had three pieces of thin cut calfs. It wasn't too thin, but right. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was good. The Cara Mia Fatuccine a house creation is a restaurant favorite. When it arrived, there was plenty of crab on the plate. I love crab meat and very picky. When the court arrived, I discovered a fishy aroma. It once dispersed the vodka sauce mixed with crabs and shrimps. I assume that this is meat grains and is probably an imported product. I would like to stress that the taste was good and not taken from the court. I'd rather prefer fresh lump scrap, but that would have doubled the price of the plate. For dessert we chose Tufalo and Cannoli with cappuccino. Prices are reasonable and competitive. Parking is over the street in a city. Parking is done free of charge until 6 o'clock Monday-Saturday with Sunday. This is a small family business and worth a trip when in the area. Also it is BYOB."

"Wanted to try this place pre improv show at FST last Saturday. They do take reservations and we were seated promptly at 5:45 eating early since we had the show to make at 7:30). Restaurant was only about 1/3 full. Took about 15 min for our waiter to realize that no one was serving us, but he was very apologetic and was attentive after that. The calamari was a great appetizer- very lightly breaded, tasty and crispy. Marinara for dipping was just spicy enough and yummy. Sliced Italian bread was on the house and was good. I got the eggplant parm with spaghetti. Eggplant was very tasty and made the way I like it- you could tell it was sliced from a casserole of eggplant parm and not just a few slices of eggplant thrown on a plate with some cheese and marinara on it- which passes for the dish at many places around here. It could have been warmer but it was so warm outside that I didn 't get it reheated. Husband got the veal our way which had prosciutto and cheese and brown gravy topping it. He really like it but I thought it was very salty. He had a potato fritter subbed for the mashed potato- that was kinda disappointing since it wasn 't very crispy and seemed like just mashed potatoes that were formed into a patty and fried for a bit. Meh. Waiter brought out 2 mini cannolis to make up for our initial lack of attention, which was a nice touch. They were good. Prices are more reasonable than the Italian places on Main Street. Overall, a pretty solid traditional Italian place."
