"Always five stars, always a line, always bring cash!! A Des Moines icon. I love the way I already have my mind made up before I go inside, but as you move in the line you can see all of the other fabulous, mouth watering sandwiches ready to be dressed and warmed and suddenly you're second guessing your original decision. Not to worry here, you can't go wrong! My favorite sandwich is the Vito's. I order it every time with mild or sweet peppers. I did try to mix it up once and tried the hot peppers, they are not hot, but the sandwich didn't taste the same, so always the original for me. Their salads and soups are divine, as well as the brownies or scotcharoo. I don't know of another family owned deli who has been around as long as they have in the Des Moines area. The prices are awesome. I went to Roosevelt over 20 years ago and the Vito's has not changed. Kudos to the Manhattan deli, I heard you are coming to West Des Moines and I can't wait!!!!"
