"Everything was enjoyable, though I’ve had better experiences here in the past. The onion rings were fantastic. The crab cakes, however, were somewhat bland and would benefit from a sauce. The red beans with fried pork chops were quite good. The BBQ shrimp was decent, but not outstanding. It was spicy and included a generous amount of shrimp—16 in total—which were well-cooked. However, it didn’t resemble traditional BBQ shrimp; there were a lot of vegetables cooked down in the sauce. While it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t what I expected. The shrimp and corn soup didn’t sit well with anyone, definitely not your typical cream-based version. Overall, we were satisfied, but there were a few disappointments. The cheesecake was just okay and had a somewhat gritty texture."

"came to see the football! mozzarella sticks were very good as appetizer. for the main I got the patty melt with added avocado, and scrub out the roggen for sourdough brot. sweet potato waffel fries for the side that were so good. the burger was perfectly boiled, delicious. Although they were busy, the service was good and the food came out quickly."

"The food is edible that's all I can say. It's as average as average can get. Take out only... there is no atmosphere. My friend and I didn't care much for what we had which were both variations of chicken subs. But, as I said, it was edible. I like trying places I haven't been to before, but wasn't happy with this place. If I were to give it a letter grade, it would be a C-."

"Fantastic restaurant. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and molten lava cake. I think the buffalo chicken sandwich just inspired me to turn my life around. If it was an actor it would win an Oscar. If it was a scientist it would win a Nobel Peace prize. If anyone is ever interested in anything flavored Buffalo, please get this sandwich. My only regret, is that I didn't take a picture of it for this review."

"ALERT The cafe building burned during the early morning hours of 12/17/2023. So sad!!!!!!!! Harris Ave Cafe holds 2nd place for our family among all the breakfast restaurants in Bellingham/Fairhaven. (First is Mount Bakery Fairhaven, but this cafe is a super close second. I had an amazing Polenta Rancheros and husband/son loved their Breakfast Chimichangas. I ordered a cornmeal buttermilk pancake, and even though it wasn't fork pull tender (haven't found that quality anywhere in Bham it was fluffier than anywhere else around, and richly flavorful too didn't even need syrup (though of course I did add some! . The coffee is a nice medium roast and it's very smooth. Our server did a great job of keeping our mugs topped off and provided the perfect level of service and check ins to see how we were doing. Highly recommended!"

"I could not decide between 3 or 4 stars so I gave them four stars because the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Heidi was our server and she was absolutely delightful and very pleasant and a wonderful waitress. The tiramisu we had for dessert was fantastic I do not know if they make it in house but if they do huge kudos to them. The Crux of an Italian restaurant is the red marinara sauce and that is where they need Improvement. There were a lot of chunks of the plum tomatoes in the sauce and the remainder of the sauce was watery period what this tells me is that they need to use an immersion blender and fully blend all of the tomatoes to bring the consistency and texture of the tomato sauce to something that is more palatable. They also need to use red wine in their sauce and use fresh garlic and not the dried herbs that I can tell that they use. The red sauce needs a lot of improvement and unfortunately is such a centerpiece of all Italian dishes. They also need more garlic flavor in the marinara sauce. The meatballs were too dry and used dried herbs and not fresh herbs. To improve the meatballs they could use a combination of beef and pork or use a higher fat content with the beef. This is a nice Italian restaurant for people that are not accustomed to authentic homemade Italian food period. With a few tweaks this could be a very nice Italian restaurant. But as I said before the hospitality of the servers and the host and Hostess staff are absolutely phenomenal"
